"Where's my coffee?" he asked.
"Didn't you just have some? Drinking too much coffee in a day isn't good," Charlotte Green said with a smile.
Kevin Cliff saw her washing the cup and gently wrapped his arms around her from behind, "Charlotte, you know I don't drink coffee anymore, don't you?"
Charlotte Green stiffened, "I... didn't know."
Having spent time together, she indeed knew that he neither smoked nor drank, not even coffee. She didn't know why, but his self-control had always been terrifyingly strong; once he decided to quit something, he would definitely succeed.
"Do you want to know when I quit?"
Charlotte Green immediately shook her head, pushed him away, placed the cup carefully, her movements full of panic, so frantic that she turned to flee...
"It was when I learned that you were overdue yet showed no signs of labor!"
The answer nailed her fleeing steps to the floor. Her hands clenched into fists as she remembered that hardest yet happiest time of her past.
