Charlotte turned around in surprise, only to see him walk in calmly in a black suit, exuding an awe-inspiring presence that seemed inborn. Charlotte thought she would never be able to acquire the kind of demeanor he had.
But why was he here?
"Didn't you say you wouldn't come?" Louis Rockefeller asked.
Kevin Cliff looked at Charlotte, his thick eyebrows furrowing when he saw the gauze on her forehead and then quietly gave her a reassuring look before taking the seat that had just been made available for him.
Charlotte's seat was the third on the right-hand side of the main seat; the two seats in front of her were taken by Giselle and her daughter. According to the castle's rules, she should have been in the second seat, but Giselle insisted, and Charlotte did not press the issue. After all, she didn't often come back for such dinners, and coincidentally, Kevin sat directly across from her.
