Chapter 1051: Platonic Love

"Is your hand... seriously injured?" the man stared at her hand that had been scalded by the coffee, which was clearly reddened on the back.

"Oh, it's not serious," Anna quickly replied, "I'm sorry, I stepped back a bit too hastily just now."

"It's okay," he responded faintly.

Relieved, Anna gave him a grateful look, then turned around and walked quickly towards the café's doorway.

Not until that figure had disappeared at the café's doorway did Jeremy Thompson's deep, dark eyes thoughtfully retract from the doorway, shifting towards his own feet, when he inadvertently spotted something extra on the ground.

Bending down, he picked it up with his fingers—it was a work card, with a photo that showed a less mature version of her, looking somewhat childlike and not as savvy as she was now.
