"Connor, aren't you going to let me in?" Emma Osborne's face bore a gentle smile as she gazed affectionately at the man inside the door.
"Wait for me outside, I'll be out soon," Connor Osborne said, then moved to close the door and leave.
"Connor, can't I wait inside for you?" Emma pushed against the door, feeling an inexplicable desire to step inside and see the wedding room Connor and Anna shared, eager to know how the two of them had lived together these past few years.
But this time, Connor firmly refused her, "Emma, just wait outside for me. I'm going to change clothes and will be out in no time, no more than five minutes."
Having said that, he quickly closed the door without waiting for Emma's agreement, then sighed deeply as he walked toward his own bedroom.
Their marriage had been platonic for the past five years, which really meant a sexless marriage. Yet he didn't want outsiders to know about this, even Emma; he didn't want her to find out.
