At seven thirty, Mrs. Zhou and the servants had dinner all set, and Arthur Lindsey came downstairs to dine.

Ella Lacey sat at the dining table with her head bowed, avoiding him. A feeling she couldn't put into words was welling up in her, making her feel uncomfortable.

She wanted to ask him why he had deserted her. Didn't he see her waving at him among the crowd? Was there no room for her petite self on such a large plane?
