Chapter 60: Memory loss?

"Sally's awake! Sally's awake! Sally's awake..." Amber Sherwood sobbed hysterically, overwhelmed with excitement.

The others joined in the exclamation, their joy boundless, filling the air with thunderous applause as all eyes remained fixed on Sally Jefferson.

She slowly lifted her heavy eyelids, her gaze vacant as she looked at the people gathered around her. Her fingers shook slightly, and her mouth opened and closed in involuntary movements.

A nurse nearby gave her a few sips of warm salt water.

It seemed as if Sally Jefferson had truly come to life. Her eyes widened, her fingers clutching the pristine white sheets. Amber Sherwood hurriedly helped her sit up, leaning against the bed, "Dear daughter, is this position more comfortable? You've been lying down for ten days without so much as turning over. It breaks my heart to see you like this."

With these words, Amber Sherwood began to weep once more.
