"But, Mommy, I'm going to work harder."
Ella Lacey clenched her small fists in determination, gearing herself up for a major change, "I want to fix my laziness and lack of ambition, starting with my hair!"
"I totally support you!" Penny Sullivan enthusiastically high fived Ella, then turned to Arthur Lindsey and ordered, "Did you hear what she said? Son, quickly take Ella to get her hair done."
Arthur put down his wine glass, annoyed, with a cold expression on his face, "What does her hair have to do with me?"
"How can it not involve you when you're my lifetime big brother!" Ella pulled out her guardianship document that she always carried around, waving it front of him. The black words on the white paper were undeniably true.
Arthur's eyes, dark as obsidian, suddenly narrowed. They were trying to corner him yet again!
"What time is it now? Which hair salon is still open?" Arthur refused to yield.
