This is a double room.
When Arthur Lindsey returned to the room, just like last time, he slipped into a white nightgown and lay down on the bed next to her.
"Put on your clothes!"
Arthur Lindsey suddenly got up, indifferently walked to the door, and sternly threatened, "If you continue this nonsense, you'll sleep alone tonight!"
He had hit Ella Lacey's vulnerable spot-
Fear of loneliness and helplessness in the dark night!
She obediently got dressed, weakly pleading, "Arthur, don't go."
Lindsey turned around, she had already returned to her bed.
Ella Lacey sprawled on the bed, her hands supporting her tiny cheeks, her eyes sparkling as they stared at Arthur Lindsey.
Arthur Lindsey pulled the khaki-colored thin quilt over himself, laying on his side, his back to her.
To Ella, it was as if she were looking at a rigid, cold wall.
Her small mouth was slightly agape as she quietly asked:
"Shut up!" Lindsey exploded, "Ella, have you no shame at all!"
