Sarah Bailey didn't let things slide as she usually did. Instead, she squared off against Georgia Sterling, fixing her with a piercing gaze and grabbing her wrist as if she would rip her apart.
"Georgia Sterling, don't push it too far. Aunt Zhang was invited by me. You have no right to fire her."
"Sarah Bailey, it's funny how you struggle despite knowing your place in this household. You never seem to learn from painful experiences." Georgia's lips curled into a cold smirk. "Do you find the beatings lacking?"
Upon hearing these words, a surge of resentment welled up in Sarah's eyes. She knew that half of her scars were caused by this woman instigating trouble, turning her father against her and escalating the domestic abuse from him.
