"I believe Monica Baldwin will surely pave the best way for me, because she's just that miraculous," Jessi Summers said without a shred of doubt, "and this time, I'm doing it for a noble cause."
Seeing her brimming with confidence, Brennan Wright found himself laughing: "Since we are both jobless right now, may I invite Miss Summers out for a casual meal?"
Jessi Summers naturally agreed with a nod.
They chose a discreet restaurant. However, as soon as Jessi took her seat, a toddler around two years old fell into a nearby fountain not far away. Although the water was shallow, the child began to cry loudly.
Jessi noticed, almost immediately, Brennan rushed over to get the child out of the water. Only then did a frantic wealthy woman come over.
"Baby, are you alright?"
Brennan met her eyes, his face turning angry for the first time: "The child is still young, I suggest you better not let him out of your sight."
The woman, taken aback, quickly picked up the child and left.
