Wesley Wright hooked his lips upward and set down his glass, his gaze landing on the bare legs of Juliana Vanderbilt. Eventually, he raised his hand and gently placed it on them.
"Otherwise, I might as well go back and help her."
Juliana Vanderbilt, her eyes angled, watched the large hand on her leg gently caressing it. She didn't move, but instead looked at Wesley Wright with a smile that held not a trace of fear.
"Go ahead, I'm not holding you back. It's your decision who you want to help, and I certainly can't control your choices..."
Wesley Wright's hand had slowly started to move higher, slipping under her skirt when he turned slightly and leaned in close to her. In a husky voice by Juliana Vanderbilt's ear, he said:
"I'm not going. I give up. Things have come this far; I can only walk down this dark path with you…"
Saying this, he bent his head eagerly and kissed Juliana Vanderbilt's neck twice, only to be pushed away by her.
