As Adriana Burton rolled her eyes, Pierre Mies seemed to finally react and went up to pull Milana Alvarez away.
"This is the police department, not a place where you can fight casually. Everyone, behave yourselves," he said.
Adriana Burton was breathing heavily, her brain too briefly deprived of oxygen to bother with cursing.
"Officer, can you tell me where my daughter is?"
Pierre Mies asked a colleague to take Adriana Burton away, preparing to transfer her and the evidence to the prosecution office.
He led Milana Alvarez to the sofa and sat her down, pouring her a glass of warm water.
