"I'm sorry!"
Although it was only an apology, tears fell one by one unintentionally. Seeing her own tears on the man's calm face, Julie Harrison realized how much she had lost her composure. Afraid of waking him up, she quickly took out a tissue from the bedside table, wanting to wipe away the tears in the corner of his eyes. But before she could even move, her hand was gently held by the man.
Michael's eyes were still closed, showing no intention of opening them. As he held Julie's wrist, she saw the subtle smile on his lips. It was ethereal, yet real.
"Oliver?"
Julie stared at his slightly moving eyes, realizing that he wasn't asleep, "You didn't fall asleep?"
As she finished speaking, Julie felt a tug on her wrist and lost her balance, falling directly into his embrace. Frightened, she screamed, "Your injury... "
Thankfully, when her head landed on his chest, it was not on his injured side, and she sighed in relief.
