"Go save her first, I'm fine!"
Lina could tell that Mario was holding back because of her, watching the unfolding events helplessly without trying to stop them. Michael Gordon was already on his way, getting closer and closer; all Mario had to do was put up a little resistance to save Ivy Aretha.
If Mario couldn't even put in that little bit of effort, then if something happened to Ivy or the child later, he would suffer for the rest of his life. Moreover, Lina had just risked her life to try to save Ivy, and her efforts would be wasted if Mario didn't act. The feeling was truly terrible.
"Lina, you..."
"Go, you're not a doctor, staying with me is useless. But if you save Ivy, you can buy some time for Michael. Go, don't let my blood be shed in vain..."
Lina's weak last words hit Mario's heart directly. He always knew how sensible she was, and it was this heart-wrenching sensibility that made him love her to his very core.
"Alright, you must hang in there!"
