Chapter 724: Jing Yuan's Thoughts

Jing Yuan couldn't let her elder brother be mocked by others; she couldn't ruin him, so she endured the heartache as she watched her brother marry another woman. That night, she hid outside the window of their bridal chamber, listening to her brother's amorous entanglement with his newlywed wife along with the blush-inducing, heart-pounding pants and moans inside. Her heart ached as if it were bleeding when she heard it.

But she didn't want to leave, so she squatted there, covering her mouth, crying silently, listening and shedding tears. She imagined that the woman pressed beneath her brother was her, Jing Yuan, being tenderly caressed by him. She listened for as long as they persisted in the room throughout the entire night. She didn't return to her own room until daybreak.

Later, she was happy when she learned that her brother could not stay at home for more than a few days, which meant he could not continue showing affection to that woman.
