Sometimes she wondered whether she had any authority as class monitor at all. Most of the time, it was Ye Li who managed the classroom. His method of 'management' was to cast an ice-cold glance at the classmates and say something like, "If anyone continues to misbehave and not listen to the class monitor, leave the classroom immediately."
Each time Ye Li said these words, the students obeyed him. Qin Jiale just felt she wasn't as effective as Ye Li, who wasn't even officially in charge. She went to the teacher and said she didn't want to be class monitor anymore and to let Ye Li act in that role instead, but the teacher refused. She couldn't understand why.
"I see. Make sure to send my letters out for me, alright? I miss them," Jiale could only obediently return back to school. If not, she wouldn't be able to retrieve her letters from Ye Li's possession.
"Don't worry, as long as you behave, I'll send them for you." Ye Li never intended to seize and keep her letters for himself.
