Chapter 6 Sharpening the Chopper_1

Sam glanced at Madam Cook and smiled at Mrs. Long. "Mother, I'm not fully recovered yet. I can't eat meat. A plate of noodles is enough."

Mrs. Long patted his hand and immediately pulled her face at Madam Cook. "Mother, what do you mean?"

"Sam didn't take the exam this time, that's not his fault."

"What, he doesn't even have the right to eat eggs if he doesn't pass the imperial examination?"

Before Madam Cook could say anything, David's 15-year-old younger brother, Dylan Rivers shouted, "Aunt, the eggs in this house are usually eaten by Sam alone. I've also done a lot of work for the family. I want to ask, am I not qualified to eat eggs?"

At this time, Dick Rivers of the third branch also whispered, "I want to eat eggs too."

"Also, I want to study too."

Ella, the second daughter of the third branch, also lowered her eyes. Who didn't want to eat eggs?

Sam lowered his eyes. His family's resources were limited. Now that all the resources were being used on him, it was inevitable that his brothers would complain.

In the past, he had also thought that he would repay his family after he passed the imperial examination. Now, it seemed that he had thought too simply.

Inequality rather than want is the cause of trouble.

When Brittany came over from the kitchen with a plate of noodles, she happened to hear Dylan and Dick's words.

She stood at the door and hesitated for a moment before walking in and placing the plate, knives, and forks in front of Sam.

In this family, apart from Mrs. Long, Sam had also protected her before. She was a person who would treat whoever was good to her.

Brittany put down the plate and left. She was afraid that if she walked slowly, she would get herself into trouble again.

Sam was also hungry, so he calmly sat down to eat.

Everyone sat down and ate in silence.

Brittany returned to the kitchen and took the rusty woodcutter to the whetstone to sharpen it.

She had decided to carry this knife with her wherever she went.

David Rivers, that bastard, would never let it go so easily.

The hall was silent, and the sound of sharpening knives in the kitchen was a little ear-piercing.

The impatient Steve cursed, "Little b*tch, it's already noon. What are you sharpening your knife for?"

The meal was finished in a depressing atmosphere.

The men got up and went back to the house. Mrs. Long and Susan cleaned up the dishes.

Sam had just helped to clean up when Mrs. Long quickly stopped him. "Your hands are used to write. Put it down quickly. Your sister and I will clean up in a few moves."

Sam knew that he couldn't persuade his mother, so he turned around and left.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw Mrs. Woods and David walking towards the house aggressively.

As Mrs. Woods walked, she shouted at the top of her lungs, "Brittany, you little b*tch, come out and treat my David's arm!"

Just now, she and David went to the town two miles away to see Doctor Elvin. Doctor Elvin shook his head and said that he was not good at treating fractures.

He even told Mrs. Woods to find a doctor to reattach his arm as soon as possible. If it dragged on for too long, even if his arm was reattached, he was afraid that it would not be able to use much strength in the future.

Only then did Mars. Woods and David Rivers become anxious. Thinking that the county was so far away, they went home to look for Brittany.

Sam frowned when he heard Mrs. Woods scolding her. He turned around and asked Mrs. Long, "What's wrong with Aunt?"

Mrs. Long lowered her voice and said, "David's arm is broken. Brittany did it."

"David, that bast**d, molested your sister-in-law today. Brittany's neck was almost broken by him."

Sam's expression turned cold as he glanced coldly at David Rivers, who was getting out of the cart.

In the kitchen, Brittany was grinding the knife and her head was covered in sweat. She just stopped to rest when she heard Mrs. Woods's shout.

She gripped the chopper in her hand tightly and came out of the kitchen. She said indifferently, "I can treat his arm. Aunt, give me some money. I will treat it immediately."
