Chapter 10 Returning to Her Parents' Home Together_1

The voice came from outside the window. Brittany pushed open the window and saw Sam practicing his swordsmanship in the courtyard.

He moved around and looked like he was proficient in it.

She raised an eyebrow. She didn't expect Sam to be so versed in both literature and martial arts.

Sam was alerted by the sound of the window opening. His eyes darted over like lightning.

Brittany quickly closed the window and went to wash up.

After breakfast, Brittany wrapped a handkerchief around her neck and set off.

Although Sam was following her, she still had a chopper strapped to her waist.

The village where her parents' home was located was next to Rivers Village, and it was about seven to eight miles away.

Sam was about four to five meters away from Brittany. As they walked, his gaze inadvertently fell on Brittany.

She was in a light blue cotton dress with a light blue belt around her waist.

Her slender waist swayed naturally when she walked, having a moving sense of rhythm.

Sam saw a big rock by the roadside after walking for about three to four miles. He shouted to the front, "Let's rest for a while."

He could still walk, but he noticed that Brittany's speed was much slower than before. She probably couldn't walk anymore.

He didn't call her sister-in-law. He couldn't bring himself to call a girl younger than him who looked delicate and weak in that way.

Brittany stopped in her tracks and dusted her handkerchief against a large rock. She called out to Sam, "Sit here."

Sam shook his head. "No need. I'll stand for a while. You can sit by yourself."

Brittany glanced at the stone and then at Sam. "The stone is quite big."

Sam immediately understood what Brittany meant was that the rock was big enough for them to sit on.

He hesitated for a moment, then strode over and sat down on one side of the rock.

Brittany sat down on the other side of the rock with her back facing him.

Just as they sat down, a slightly plump woman walked over from the other end of the road.

The woman had been staring at them from afar. When she came closer, the woman smiled happily at Brittany. "Brittany, are you going back to your parents' home?"

Brittany smiled at her. "Yes, Mrs. Morgan."

Mrs. Morgan squeezed herself onto the rock and sat down. She turned to look at Sam with a smile. "Is this your husband? Oh, this young man is so handsome."

Sam's face was slightly red. He stood up and bowed. Just as he was about to explain, Brittany said indifferently, "Mrs. Morgan, you've misunderstood. This is my brother-in-law. My mother-in-law was afraid that the road would be difficult to walk, so she specially asked him to send me. My husband died on the day when we got married."

Mrs. Morgan's mouth was wide open for a long time. "You mean, you're a widow now?"

Brittany nodded.

Mrs. Morgan sighed. "What bad news. I told you not to marry a patient, but your mother didn't listen."

"I remember you haven't turned fifteen yet. Why don't you..." Find someone else to marry as soon as possible.

She glanced at Sam and swallowed the rest of her words.

Mrs. Morgan suddenly slapped her thigh. "Oh, someone said that he saw someone in the prefecture capital who looked like your father. When he wanted to ask him, but he couldn't find him."

"After your mother heard about it, she is planning to sell the house and land at home and go to the prefecture capital to look for your father."

"The other day, she asked my husband to find a buyer for her."
