Chapter 17 I Won't Spoil You_1

Mia stared at Sam's back and twisted the handkerchief in her hand tightly.

She had thought about it for a long time in her room before deciding to come and try it out with Sam.

Sam was born to be handsome, and he was also very talented. If he was willing to marry her, she would naturally tell him about that matter. If he avoided it, he would naturally still be the Sam with a bright future. She would also be able to enjoy a happy life with him in the future.

Since he looked down on her and was unwilling to be engaged to her, she would wait and see how the high and mighty Sam would fall from heaven to hell.

Mia smiled coldly. It wouldn't take long for that to happen. She wondered if Sam would regret not agreeing to her request.

Sam returned to the kitchen.

Chris was still in the kitchen, so they were not considered solitary men and women.

Brittany saw him come in and moved a chair for him to sit on. She poured him a glass of water and sat down to continue mending Chris's clothes.

After boiling the water, Sam helped carry it into the room and poured it into the bathtub. Chris's clothes were also patched up.

Chris went to take a shower while Brittany rummaged through the kitchen and found some flour and two eggs.

She beat the eggs and poured them into the flour. Then, she added some water, salt, and chopped green onions. After stirring them evenly, she added some oil into the pot and poured the paste to make some pancakes.

Brittany did not know how to cook in her previous life. Although there were many ancient books at home and she had read many ancient recipes in her spare time, she had never cooked.

There were dozens of servants in the house, and she was a young lady who did not do housework.

The skill of cooking and mending clothes came naturally with this body.

After a while, Brittany finished frying a scallion pancake. She scooped it out and handed it to Sam before continuing to fry it.

It was lunchtime, and Sam was hungry. He took the golden and fragrant pancake and took a bite.

The pancake was fragrant and crispy in his mouth, and he quickly ate it.

Brittany scooped another one over with a spatula.

Sam continued eating. He ate three pancakes in a row. When Brittany reached out with the pancake again, he waved his hand. "I'm full."

Brittany fried two more and put them in the cupboard before frying one for herself.

After just a few bites, she saw Mrs. Lee holding onto the door frame and standing at the kitchen door, panting.

With tears in her eyes, she said coquettishly, "I've been calling you for a long time. Why can't you hear me?"

"I don't know where Mia went. She didn't even cook. I'm hungry, so get me something to eat."

As she spoke, she saw the pancakes on Brittany's plate. "Having some pancakes is ok."

Brittany was originally eating the pancake with her chopsticks. When she heard Mrs. Lee's words, she put down her chopsticks, grabbed the pancake on the plate, and stuffed it into her mouth.

Mrs. Lee looked at her in shock.

Brittany pouted and said vaguely, "There's no more pancake. If you want to eat it, make it yourself."

Sam looked at Brittany, whose cheeks were puffed up like a squirrel, and almost laughed out loud.

Wasn't this girl too protective of her food?

Mrs. Lee held the door frame with one hand and pointed at Brittany with the other. "You, how can you do this? Your mother hasn't eaten yet and you only care about yourself."

Brittany glanced at her. "I only care about myself because I learned it from you."

"You..." Mrs. Lee's face was pale. She pointed at Brittany and staggered as if she was about to faint.

Brittany raised her eyebrows. "Don't faint. I won't help you up even if you faint."

Her mother was not seriously ill. At first, she was overly sad. Later on, as she lay in bed day after day, her body became weaker and weaker.
