Chapter 143: Assembly

Under Kalu's leadership, the five hundred thousand Kryptonian soldiers completed their mission to annihilate the nation. They knelt in the sky and reported to His Majesty after H'el's projection dissipated. Following this, under Kalu's command, they marched into the Marshal-class battleship, disappearing from the view of onlookers.

Only the Battleship Valiant, with its beautiful, ocean-like exterior paint, remained hovering in the sky. It stood tall, resembling Earth's sword of Damocles, pointed at the planet below.

The Earth's united global defense forces dissolved rapidly. No nation wanted to bear the burden of the nation's annihilation that had occurred in the past ten minutes. The leading and most powerful nations on Earth had been wiped out clean.

All administrative centers, military bases, and top leaders of the nation had been obliterated. A never-ending fallout of nuclear radiation and ash snowfall covered the country. The population was plunged into fear and bewilderment. Nobody would dare utter the name of this nation, for the sovereign who had destroyed it, His Majesty, casually stated that he didn't like the country and ordered a name change.

In an instant, this place became an inhospitable environment. Nuclear radiation spread, turning the entire area into an unnamed and terrifying region.

Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, emitted a green glow all over his body as he hovered in the sky. He gazed angrily at the Marshal-class battleship, his fists trembling with clenched determination.

"Green Lantern, stay calm. We still need to protect the people below; we can't attack him," Wonder Woman, Diana, said with a hint of powerlessness in her eyes. She bit her lip and tried to console Green Lantern.

From the moment Kalu began executing the order to destroy the nation, they had been trying to stop the Kryptonian soldiers.

They were indeed extraordinary and managed to defeat over four hundred Kryptonian soldiers.

But it made no difference.

The army's clear strategic objectives were beyond the capability of these lone superheroes to thwart.

In the end, they couldn't save a single top leader marked for certain death by H'el.

Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, and Wonder Woman, Diana, felt for the first time a sense of powerlessness in the face of this unstoppable military force.

"I know. We're outnumbered, and we can't stop them from destroying any Earth country," Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, replied with a suppressed fury. He spoke in a low voice, "We need more firepower, even a super army, to drive them out of Earth."

"I'll go back to Themyscira to persuade my mother. The Amazon warriors are strong and brave, no less than they are," Wonder Woman, Diana, said, her black hair swirling as she spoke. Her eyes were unwavering, and her tone resolute.

For thousands of years, the women warriors of Themyscira had undergone fierce military training, possessing strong physiques and unyielding determination. They were a naturally formidable army.

If there was any group of people whose physicality could contend with the Kryptonian soldiers, Diana believed it was the Amazon warriors.

"I have some connections in the universe. I'll summon a legion dedicated to justice and peace from the cosmos. Against these troops, the Green Lantern Corps soldiers are no match."

Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, made up his mind to return to Oa and call for reinforcements.

This was no longer a situation he, as a Green Lantern alone, could stop. He needed more allies.

"No matter how many regular soldiers there are, without the power to deal with that guy, he can still do as he pleases on Earth! Even the strongest of you, Superman, from the Justice League, was easily defeated by him."

In the distance, a green-skinned, bald extraterrestrial with distinct and deep-set features, dressed in black armor, with a bright red cape billowing behind him, arrived swiftly.

Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onzz, a Martian who had accidentally been transported from Mars to Earth, concealed his identity. He resided in Middleton, joined the Middleton Police Department, and used his superpowers discreetly to assist Earth's police in upholding justice and protecting the planet.

The Justice League had fought alongside him in the previous Steppenwolf Invasion and thus were somewhat acquainted with him.

He had also appeared in the recent war that had annihilated this nation, managing to stop more Kryptonian soldiers than Hal and Diana, but it had still been futile.

"Who told you that the strongest member of the Justice League is Superman?" Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, replied with a displeased expression.

Within the Justice League, there had never been a ranking or a consensus on who was the strongest. However, on Earth, it was universally accepted that Superman, this god among men, was the most powerful and the soul of the Justice League.

Hal Jordan was quite opinionated about it. He argued that, aside from Batman, who could easily disarm himself with a slight mistake, the rest of them possessed considerable strength, and they were on par with each other. Especially for someone like himself, who frequently operated in space and executed justice there, he should be the most powerful.

Diana and Martian Manhunter paid no heed to Hal's competitive spirit.

"J'onn, we need to rescue Superman and the Flash, and gather more super-powered individuals to unite against 'His Majesty' of Krypton," Diana said earnestly with a heroic air. "We need your help. I'm about to return to Themyscira to request support, and Green Lantern will summon the Green Lantern Corps from the cosmos."

Martian Manhunter, his red eyes unwavering, addressed Wonder Woman and Green Lantern with a deep voice, "I have the ability to rescue Superman and the Flash, but it won't make a difference. His Majesty is too powerful, and this will only lead to a repeat of the Justice League being defeated."

Wonder Woman, Diana, fell silent. Even if she were to unleash the full power of her magic bracelets, she dared not speak of effortlessly taking on the entire Justice League.

In reality, His Majesty from Krypton had defeated them with ease. He had punched through Hal's godly power shield and sent him flying into space with a single blow. His heat vision had melted her divine shield, a feat far beyond Superman's capabilities, making resistance futile.

Even Kryptonite, which was supposed to weaken Kryptonians, had no effect on him, the same with red sun radiation.

His strength was nothing short of despair-inducing.

By the gods, did they need the king of the gods, Zeus himself, to descend from Olympus to stand against this power?

For a moment, Wonder Woman, Diana, felt lost, unsure of how to deal with this.

"You two have a limited perspective of Earth. I will search the cosmos for beings who can match him," Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, said with a determined expression.

However, his words raised suspicion in Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter.

"Are you sure?" Martian Manhunter asked, his red eyes fixed on Green Lantern.

"I'm sure!" Green Lantern clenched his jaw, resolute.

He had never encountered a being this powerful during his service as a Green Lantern, maintaining order in his sector. But the Green Lantern Corps had vast experience and resources; they surely had the means or the capabilities to oppose His Majesty of Krypton.

Otherwise, the Green Lantern Corps would not have existed for so many years.

"Very well, then. I will go to rescue Superman and the Flash," Martian Manhunter stated.

The three of them exchanged glances and then collectively turned their gaze towards the battleship, hovering in the sky, ready to carry out their respective missions.

Green Lantern soared into space, creating a wormhole with his power ring to travel to Oa.

Wonder Woman headed toward Themyscira.

Martian Manhunter descended among the populace, concealing himself, and began his mission to rescue Superman and the Flash.
