Chapter 166: Apollo and Artemis

"They're nothing but wandering dogs."

Apollo's imposing figure exuded a dignified and majestic appearance, with handsome features, fragrant and slightly floating long hair cascading over his shoulders. Adorned with a crown woven from laurel, love tree, and olive tree branches, he bore a captivating aura, exuding a friendly and contemptuous smile toward all beings.

Descending from on high, he emanated an indomitable, singularly mine air, commanding attention.

Known to the world as the Sun God Apollo, within the Olympus pantheon, upon his arrival at the peak of Olympus, he would strike fear and suffocation into the hearts of most gods—a formidable representative of great prowess within the Olympian pantheon.

In the Olympus pantheon, he was one of the foremost symbols of formidable strength.

During the ancient cosmic wars, he controlled the authority of the sun, manipulating its changes and obstructing the Kryptonians' ability to absorb solar energy, causing them indelible disasters.

"I will represent Olympus in the expedition and utterly annihilate these remaining wandering dogs."

Apollo was extremely courteous, turning to the heavenly queen Hera with a smile. His magnificent figure, symbolizing the perfect masculine grace, appeared like a towering mountain pressing down upon Hera's eyes, emanating an overwhelming aura and immense pressure.

Apollo was the son of her husband Zeus and the Titan goddess Leto, whom Hera once forbade the Earth from providing a birthing place, but eventually, Leto gave birth to Apollo and Artemis.

Especially now that both siblings had become two of the twelve major gods, it forced Hera to suppress her dislike for them and maintain peace within the Olympus pantheon.

Although Hera harbored disdain, she wouldn't show it in front of outsiders. In a commanding tone, she issued an order, "Apollo, lead your subordinates of five hundred thousand magic legions to exterminate the Kryptonians."

"At your command, my Queen." Apollo, with a calm and composed demeanor, courteously accepted the order.

In front of others, he needed to give the Queen some face.

"Have you forgotten the brutality of the ancient cosmic war?" Scar glanced at Apollo, still remembering how Apollo, wielding the authority of the sun, used the red solar radiation, cutting off the Kryptonians' absorption of solar energy, causing Apollo to be relentlessly and brutally beaten and chased away. Why was he so proud at this moment?

"Guardians of the Universe! It's not the past anymore. Even then, the Kryptonians were defeated, defeated quite miserably. While the Kryptonians skulked in hiding throughout the cosmos, each main god of Olympus experienced substantial growth. Only you still regard the Kryptonians as a raging flood beast."

Apollo spread his arms, revealing a sturdy chest, exuding a confident and composed gaze, his wide grin resembling the radiant flames of the sun.

Everything needs sunlight to grow, including the Kryptonians.

What qualifications did the Kryptonians, who needed the sun, have to confront its master?

"I am their destiny, I am their end."

Scar and Yarrek's faces turned somber.

Indeed, the excessive aggregation of power, the prolonged immersion in the divine power within the divine realm of Olympus, has elevated the minds of the Olympian gods, making them believe they are at the pinnacle of the cosmic ecosystem, beginning to look down upon everything.

The use of authority blinded them to what lay beneath.

Even Hera, upon hearing Apollo's words, found them to be reasonable.

Today is not ancient times, nor the era when the Kryptonians were rampant.

Apollo is right.

Olympus is utterly unafraid of this small group of Kryptonians.

In their view, the Guardians of the Universe are indeed overly anxious.

At this moment, another pillar supporting the starry sky emitted a soft silvery light, and from it emerged a girl. Carved on this pillar were aspects of hunting, wilderness, beasts, mountains, caves, forests, archery, midwifery, fertility, abundance, moon, bows and arrows, cypress trees, deer, bears, hawks, hunting dogs, and pheasants. In the gentle silver light, a young maiden appeared.

Artemis, wearing a belted skirt and hunting boots, wielding the moon-shaped bow and carrying a hunting spear, exuded a youthful, wild vitality. Simultaneously, her face was coldly beautiful. She was the goddess of the moon, the goddess of hunting, the goddess of nature, the goddess of archery and hunting, and more importantly, Apollo's sister.

"Sister, there's no need for you to awaken from slumber. I alone am sufficient to deal with these Kryptonians. They are not worth fearing."

Apollo looked somewhat astonished as he saw his sister awaken from her sleep.

He had a close relationship with his sister, supporting each other all along. After enduring hardships, they became two of the twelve major gods of Olympus. Within the factions of the twelve main gods of Olympus, they often stuck together and were close relatives who shared everything.

"You are too proud, Apollo. Hunters often prefer to appear as the prey." Artemis glanced at Apollo, then turned to Queen Hera, her face cold, and requested in an emotionless tone, "I will join Apollo in the expedition to exterminate the Kryptonians."

Artemis used a more affirmative tone, much stiffer than Apollo.

The deep-seated hatred between the siblings and Hera originated from their time in the womb, then continued when they were born and were hunted by Hera's agents. If it weren't for the determination of the siblings, they probably wouldn't have had the chance to become one of the twelve major gods.

Both of them held disdain for Hera.

Hera's displeasure grew. She didn't have a favorable disposition towards these two rebellious individuals. With an austere expression, she stiffly smiled and said, "Of course, Apollo and Artemis are unrivaled in Olympus. Eliminating the Kryptonians is within their capabilities. Athena will lead you, along with your magic legions and the Amazon warriors, to exterminate the Kryptonians. On Mount Olympus, I will arrange a feast to celebrate your victorious return."

Hera's dissatisfaction surfaced as she appointed Athena as the commander, leading Apollo, Artemis, and the rest. This act was meant to add some insignificant trouble for the two.

Additionally, she enlisted the Amazon warriors, who has another lover of Zeus, as cannon fodder, sending them to their deaths.

With three major gods of the Olympus faction joining the battle, the Guardians of the Universe had little to say.

After all, only two of the Guardians had arrived.

Witnessing the Olympian gods indulging in luxury and engaging in open and hidden conflicts, the Guardians frowned deeply.

Any being that becomes a god, after prolonged possession of power, ends up like this. Scar and Yarrek felt helpless.

Of all the gods they had encountered, none had any prospects. They all appeared the same—unable to compare with the Guardians, who could set aside emotions for the greater cause of universal peace.

Thankfully, the combat capabilities of the Olympus major gods were indeed reliable, which relieved Scar and Yack.

Following this, Athena, reluctantly, emerged from her pillar supporting the starry sky, becoming a representative of the Olympus faction.

Apollo and Artemis each mobilized their respective legions and ventured out of the heavenly realm to confront the Kryptonians.
