Chapter 229: Impossible

Jor-El saw Kal rising from the operating table, somewhat struggling with his newfound strength, easily denting a large piece of the steel operating table. As their eyes met, the uncontrolled blue lake-like beauty of Kal's pupils transformed into a deep, mysterious black.

The change in Kal's eye color startled Jor-El.

Normally, eye color inheritance follows the rule that darker colors, like black, are dominant over lighter colors.

This means that if the mother has blue eyes and the father has black eyes, their child will have black eyes.

Jor-El's eye color is brown, but his wife, Laura, has blue eyes. So even if Kal has blue eyes, Jor-El wouldn't doubt that he's his own son, because eye color inheritance is complex and doesn't always follow the rule that darker colors are dominant over lighter colors. Sometimes inheriting Laura's eye color is perfectly normal.

But!

It absolutely wouldn't be black eyes.

He has brown eyes, and his wife has blue eyes.

Kal initially had blue eyes, but after H'el removed the suppressed and concealed psychic power, his eye color changed dominantly, directly turning into black eyes.

It has nothing to do with Jor-El at all!

Jor-El is particularly familiar with biology. After all, he personally input the Codex into Kal's body. Guessing this layer, his hands couldn't help but tremble and twitch, his eyelids widened in shock, and his eyes trembled and shrank.

It was as if a thunderbolt had struck his head, leaving him standing dumbfounded in place.

In this moment, his mind was buzzing, and everything in the universe seemed to cease to exist. He couldn't think, and his ears were filled with buzzing sounds.

"Open your microscopic vision and etc, compare his genetic map," H'el's voice, like a devil's temptation, sounded in Jor-El's ears.

Jor-El didn't want to do as H'el said. What he should do most is to unite with his son Kal-El and attack H'el together, kill him.

But when any man suspects that his son is not his own, any man will strongly give birth to the behavior of doing paternity testing.

Not to mention having such convenient vision and microscopic vision, Jor-El couldn't help but widen his eyes, obeying H'el's devilish voice, opening his penetrating vision and microscopic vision, looking at the sitting-up Kal.

Jor-El's eyeballs, bulging with veins, were almost about to pop out, looking terrifying. Penetrating Kal's skin, he saw various cells in the blood vessels and entered the genetic information level, seeing the helical structure of genetic information.

"No!"

"No!"

"No!"

"Impossible!"

"How could this be! Impossible!"

Jor-El is extremely familiar with the unique genetic map information of the El family, but he did not see the unique genetic map information of the El family on Kal's body.

As for the overall genetic information of other Kryptonians, Kal's was basically identical and neatly organized.

What does this indicate?

This indicates that Kal is not a member of the El family at all, not his own son. Furthermore, in Kal's genetic information map, he found genetic map information belonging to his wife and another type of genetic information he didn't recognize.

What does this indicate again? It indicates that Kal is indeed the son of his wife Laura, but has no relation to him. He is the son of his wife and another man.

(A/N: Bros cucked, lol)

"It's impossible. Laura wouldn't betray me. You were already exiled into space by me at that time."

Jor-El stared with terrifying eyes, his eyelids widened greatly, murmuring in disbelief at the sight before him.

He entrusted everything to Kal: the hope of the El family, the Codex to continue the civilization of Krypton, and the ideal of establishing a new Krypton. All of this was entrusted to Kal, who was still a baby a year before the explosion of Krypton.

Even as Kal grew up on Earth, received human education, and ultimately chose to give up establishing a new Krypton on Earth, Jor-El had no regrets, allowing his son to choose his own path.

But now. Everything from the first half of his life, the honor on Krypton, the El family, all turned to ashes.

Everything from the latter half, his son, the son in whom he entrusted all his ideals, turned out not to be his son!

Jor-El couldn't accept this devastating news.

For Kal, he sacrificed everything in the latter half of his life, only to find out that he was raising someone else's son, and inadvertently helped his greatest enemy, H'el!

Jor-El subconsciously resisted what he saw, shaking his head continuously, murmuring like a madman lost in his own dream: "It's impossible!"

"It's impossible!"

"It's impossible!"

"It's impossible!"

"It's impossible!"

"It's impossible!"

Superman's head ached slightly, feeling like it was about to burst, veins throbbing at his temples. His brows furrowed into a crease, his features bearing a resemblance to H'el, firm and rugged. The overwhelming power was directly exerting pressure on his body, which he was desperately trying to control.

His memory still lingered on the attack he suffered when H'el stomped on him in the Justice League building, rendering him unable to resist, repeatedly trampled on his chest, plunging him into a deep coma.

Superman's gaze left Jor-El, who seemed to deny reality like a madman, and kept shifting between H'el's black figure and Jor-El, his furrowed brows showing a deep sense of confusion.

H'el's black figure gave him a familiar feeling, as if it was the person who trampled on his chest in the Justice League building that day.

But Superman couldn't confirm because at that time, he only saw the vague silhouette of a black figure.

Subconsciously, he sought someone who could provide him with clarity, his closest person—Jor-El.

Superman stepped down from the steel operating table and approached Jor-El, whose eyes were trembling, murmuring "It's impossible" in denial.

To be honest, Superman's feelings for Jor-El, who claimed to be his biological father, were not very deep.

Superman's relationship with Jor-El was not as strong as his relationship with his adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent, or even with his friends like Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.

Because ever since Jor-El appeared after Superman's graduation from Metropolis University, he was already an adult with a strong sense of justice and ideals.

For Superman, Jor-El was more like a background figure who introduced him to his immense powers.

So Superman's knowledge about Krypton was limited to knowing that he was Kryptonian and fundamentally, he was an Earthling with Kryptonian physiology.

After all, you really can't invest a lot of emotions in a character who claims to be your father, especially when Jor-El also talked a lot about Krypton, including his physical death on Krypton and uploading his consciousness to the network, which Superman took as a memorial program left by his father.

What deep emotions could there be in that?

The ones who accompanied Superman's growth were his adoptive parents.

He quietly let him grow up on Earth, never appearing when he needed support or education. Jor-El, who believed he was doing the right thing, watched from behind.
