Of Love and Loss: The Birth of The Tyrant

There was once a star crossed lovers— It all started in a peaceful world, there lies a country in which its people were separated into two levels; One was novelty and one was common. Not mentioning the royal heritage which rules the country. The country of Landroich, we could find a prosperous country, ruled by the Grand Duke: Karl Dämonisch.

This King who was before a Grand Duke, was charming, matured looking and well natured. He's quite temperamental sometimes, yet he dutifully serves his country and keeps it all well. He fought his foes fairly, no matter if it's a Pope, a king or the same as him; a duke even, he fought fair and square with the same respect. His land of Landroich was doing well with his lead, within the past of several centuries in his era, the prosperous land didn't experienced such calamity or any kind of disastrous situation, sometimes it fell, yet it was salvaged in the assistance of Catherine Almoire Dämonisch, Karl's wife.

Catherine is a righteous woman, witty and a symbol of excellence. She was the biggest help on maintaining the country intact, the people in good condition, and she was the savior of impoverished people. In her early youth, specifically at the age of 14, she was a Dämonisch who chose a path of a priestess, the Dämonisch family opposed it at first and threatened, "You will never marry Karl if you were a priestess! or marry another man!" their father shouted, furious in the hall. The whole hall was silent, neither of the family and the servants spoke or breathed.

"A priestess?" the former King snorted, there's mockery and insult in his tone, "Do you want to be a righteous queen of Landroich or a foolish servant of a non-existent deity?!" Catherine didn't refute and remained silent which brought the King in his fury, he declared with his blood-shooted that Catherine would be locked up in the left wing of the palace for 5 years, as her punishment for attempting to not obey the King, as such for his father's wishes. A queen shall never worship, for she was the already rule and the one people will worship for— that was the rule that Catherine Almoire Dämonisch missed to read in their studies.

From this day afterwards, Catherine regretted her decision on sharing her thoughts to her father. Catherine trusted her father and yet, she didn't actually expect this kind of reaction from him. The King has always been a good example, and a good father that everyone could wish for; with both Catherine and Karl, he provided love and education that they deserved, he never opposed their decision, and if they ever made mistakes on their own, Catherine or Karl will be lectured with no fury, mockery and harsh insults, but a stern and strict way. The King reacted as if he had a long immeasurable length of anger for deities.

While she was locked, her older brother Karl was always there behind the door, a barrier that blocked her freedom by a single mistake. Karl was there everyday, reading her stories, novels and a book of overall etiquette of the Dämonisch family which was passed on generation by generation. Sometimes, Karl would sneak from the Palace's kitchen and snuck some sweet pastries, and think, "this was Almoire's favorite, It's good that there's still left." and  then sprints to the left wing of the Palace. Little did he know, the King was always hiding in the dark, watching him stuff the sweet pastries to the woven basket. He is also the provider of these 'leftover' pastries.

twice in a week, the King would buy sweet pastries from Helen's Bakery, still freshly steamy warm as he held it. he would buy twice in a week, because if he had bought thrice or everyday, Catherine's teeth would ache and too much sugar isn't good for her health.

Normally, an average king would send his personal servant to buy and fetch the sweet pastries, but the King himself wanted to stroll around Landroich and see if his people had improved, and his old friends from the day back then. the people of Landroich loved their King, he was more than a King for them.

Catherine would be overjoyed whenever her brother Karl would give her some leftover pastries, she would jump in happiness behind the door, thanking him happily and numerous times. These moments lasted until the last day of her punishment. She was released, a banquet awaited to celebrate her freedom which was most likely arranged by her brother Karl.

At this event, everyone was happy and celebrated, others were showering Catherine with gifts and others were happily giving her a loadful of stories of what happened in the past 5 years of her imprisonment. We could say that the King was happy, but of course, as a dignified father, he would never show these very emotions.

In a blink of an eye, the banquet ended and Catherine jumped at the age of 20 when she married Karl and became a King and Queen of Landroich. they became an unstoppable ruler of the world and greatest heroes in everyone's eye. Their names were written in historical books and how many times they've arisen the once fallen-in-calamity Landroich is now doing well and recovered from a great loss with the honorable victory, enemies by enemies.

At the age of 21, Catherine became pregnant with Karl's only child. Karl took care of her very attentively, he gave everything and cared for his darling Catherine and his son. As a King, Karl had fulfilled both sides of his roles, he was a good husband to his wife, a husband that every woman would ever desire to have one. With utmost care, She also fulfilled the baby's desire, any food that she craved for, there's a Karl who would provide. If she felt that there's something wrong with her baby, She wouldn't be shy nor hesitate to ask her King for some assistance from the doctor.

The Queen doesn't have personal servants to run errands or that would take care of her, it'll be the King himself, the father and his husband, Karl Dämonisch.

One night during the gentle winter amidst the night, Karl decided to discuss their son's name in the cozy bed, with the firewood lit on the fireplace. It was warm, a perfect moment for the couple. Catherine was pregnant for 8 months and a half, the due's near so Karl thought about this.

Catherine chuckled, "How thoughtful, Your Highness." as she caressed the soft curls of Karl's hair. Karl tsk'ed and replied bashfully, "don't call me that, it sounds embarrassing coming out from you."

Then he looked at Catherine dearly with his lavender eyes, gazing to his beloved that his heart holds for a lifetime, "Catherine, do you have ideas for our son's name yet?" he asked.

Catherine then replied quickly, "I found one, it was a name from a book."

Intrigued, Karl changed his position; propping his arm beneath his chin and laying to his stomach, "What's the name?" he asked with a curious tone, Karl had expected this response from his wife, he knew that this was an old hobby of hers which he found interesting. It seems that Catherine doesn't get bored of reading books until now.

If she could consider this name naming for her son, then this character must be very admirable, an excellent one, that she loved the name and would like to pass it for her son. Catherine then turned to look at Karl with a smile, "the name is Kaiser, which means, 'Emperor— Brimming with blossoming power.'"

The winter had ended and the spring arrived; Kaiser Dämonisch was born exactly when spring had started. Everybody thought it was the luckiest day for the new born baby, but it was not for the father. At the very first when the new born baby had cried, Catherine died from birthing her beloved son, she had a heart attack soon after her last push.

From the day forth, Karl Dämonisch had lost the love of his life, he lost control on maintaining his land in equal eyes. ever since the queen— Catherine Almoire Dämonisch died, the people of Landroich became unbalanced: half of the people fell in chaos, precisely speaking, poverty became greater and unresolved by the current King including some people who fell in a grim path.
