Chapter 2: The Golden Crush for Midnight

As the bell rang, signaling the start of a new school day, Aeron and Starfania both headed to the classroom they shared before they were marked late. The hallway buzzed with the energy of students shuffling to their destination, the voices echoing off the walls. After reaching Professor Shadow's classroom and settling in their respective seats, Starfania couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that always came when she was in this classroom. Professor Shadow had a habit of signaling her out, making her feel like even more of an outsider. Just like any other day, Starfania was bracing herself for another round of unwanted attention. As if on cue the notorious group known as Scarlet Rage saunter into the room, catching everyone's attention. Many would say they were the definition of cool, revered by many and even feared.Getting closer to Starfania, she could feel her anxiety rising, knowing all too well what they were up to. She silently prayed for some sort of intervention, anything to spare her from this torment. But deep down, she knew it was just going to be another repeat. Then the unexpected arrival of a fiery-red-haired girl disrupted the already tense atmosphere. Her action left Starfania speechless for a moment, her fiery gaze boring into her. Almost demanding a response to her audacious intrusion. Standing before her, Starfania was struggling to respond to her boldness. Then with a hint of sarcasm, she bestowed upon her the title of " Princess Star, the devoted admirer of dragons, " breaking the silence with her teasing tone. The exchange between the two girls was palpable the tension thick in the air as the two simply glared each other down. " It's truly a delight to see you again, Becka " Starfania remarked, unable to ignore Becka's presence any longer. While Becka's mischievous grin widened as she leaned in, oozing confidence. " Well, what did you expect? I do have the most renowned group in this school. "Starfania raised an eyebrows in response. " Is that so? I must have missed your name being echoed through the hallways, " she retorted her voice laced with sarcasm. But Becka remained unfazed, her confidence unshaken." Star, there's no reason to act like this. I mean it's clear that deep down, you aspire to be me, which is why jealousy consumes you, " she countered. Suppressing a chuckle, Starfanai maintains her composure." Oh, please. Same me the theatrics. I can assure you there is nothing to be jealous of when it comes to you, " Starfania replied cooly, refusing to let her taunts affect her.In her typical self-assured manner, Becka launched another verbal attack, belittling her as though she was an incapable animal. Who was unable to follow a simple order given by their master. However, before the confrontation could escalate further, Professor Shadow finally intervened, bringing an end before it could escalate even further and ending Starfania's suffering." Ms. Scalia, please return to your seat this instance, " he said firmly, his tone telling us that he didn't want another argument. Becka shoots a final shot toward Starfania, leaning closely and whispering in her ears, " You might have gotten lucky this time, but fortune won't always favor you. "However, Professor Shadow's patience was wearing thin before Starfania had an opportunity to respond. His voice filled the room, booming, " Ms. Scalia, I already told you to take a seat. "Becka rolled her eyes at him but ultimately headed toward her seat, Starfania felt relieved when Professor Shadow intervened before the situation got out of hand. As Becka and her friends settled into their seats at the back of the classroom, she let out a sigh of relief. Aeron had cast a worried glance in Starfania's direction but she simply reassured him everything was fine.
