Chapter 5: Death looms, waiting for its next victim

As the two savored their meal, their eyes glimpsed the Wildfire High School dragon team. Known as Fire Curse, as they came out onto the fields with their dragons shooting into the air. Performing stunts and testing their agility. Then Daniel came out. He was the captain of the team and came sprinting onto the field with pride. His determination and inspiring nature were incredibly captivating. His eyes seemed to observe his surroundings as he spotted his two new companions. Sitting on the bleacher, he raised his fist high in the air, his energy being very infectious.

Making his way over to Aeron and Starfania jumping over the fence once a bit closer to them. Giving off his signature charming smile " Well today must be my lucky day. I didn't think I would be having the princess of our kingdom come to watch practice today. "

" I wish people would stop calling me that. " Starfania said with a sigh, which caused Daniel to chuckle at her reaction. Then Daniel slowly turned towards Aeron and gave him a high five. " What's up, my man? How are you doing? "

Aeron simply replied, " Not much, just the sky. "

They both asked what the team was practicing at this time, and he said that they were working for the annual Dragon Games and explained that he was looking forward to these challenges but his favorite one was The Sky Race.

Starfania remembered watching the games with her family when she was a little kid and enjoyed the festivities. Her mother used to tell her that the first Dragon Lords and Human leaders would use this method to solve problems peacefully, which gave us the first king of Avalon. He was also one of the few people who was able to talk to the Greek Cosmo who gave us our ancient warrior known as the Dragon Savior. Daniel also explained that it consisted of five games but the one known as the Final confrontation determined the winner. The game activities not only help individuals enhance their skills but also add an element of enjoyment that enhances the experience. " These games provide a priceless opportunity to evaluate and challenge the ability of both dragons and their riders. They serve as a test for the teams, evaluating their skills, agility, and teamwork, these are crucial in identifying the truly exceptional talents and ultimately the Dragon Champions. "

Another crucial factor of the Dragon Games is that the winning team receives a large cash prize and the title of Dragon Champion. Not only that it gives the nations a significant boost for their hometown. Being able to witness these events truly creates a memorable experience. After chatting for a bit Daniel was called back onto the field to work on his skills. He bid farewell to both Starfania and Aeron they wished him luck on his training for the upcoming games. Starfania's eyes seemed to linger a bit as she admired Daniel's quality. As the day progressed, Starfania and Aeron felt like they were a united force against the world. Even after Professor Shadow assigned everyone a hefty load of work. If it wasn't completed by the end of class they would have to do it as homework.

Starfania and Aeron teamed up to tackle the assignment, combining their ideas and thoughts. By the end of the day, they both felt a deep sense of accomplishment. Meanwhile, Miss Little Becka and her fellow Scarlet Rage partner Mira were the only ones in class who didn't take their work seriously. Instead of working, she was telling Mira that her dad got her a tutor to study dark magic. Even despite Professor Shadow's reprimanding them, it was already too late by the time the bell rang. Looking around Starfania noticed that all of her classmates had already turned in their assignments. As she was getting ready to leave, she decided to glance back and noticed Becka and Mira struggling with their assignments, their earlier distraction now catching up to them. Starfania didn't know if she felt sorry for them or was thinking that karma decided to pay an early visit. It made her think about how she and Aeron made quite a team. They each approached the task differently working off one another strengths and weaknesses.

Without realizing she must have been standing there for a while staring right at them. To which Mira spoke up for the first time " What are you staring at freak? "

" I told you already Mira. Miss Dragon Lover has a habit of daydreaming it's practically her only friend at this point, besides the bandaged boy of course. " Becka said with a devilish smile. It took everything in Starfania to not engage in their meaningless words. As she simply walked out of the classroom to catch up with Aeron. Trying to forget Becka and Mira's words towards her and Aeron.
