The truth stung. Each empty seat was a reminder of her isolation, and for a moment, disorientation washed over her. She clenched her fists, wrestling with the vulnerability that Becka had exposed. The air grew thick with tension as Becka's words sliced through the fragile calm like a blade. She believed that she knew every flaw and weakness in Starfania.
" And let's not forget, " Becka said, her voice dripping with venom, " you do understand the impact your mother's passing had on the kingdom, don't you? The so-called brave protector who sacrificed herself for her daughter–her precious child–only to leave this kingdom in Hell away from the rest of the world. "
Becka's words hit her like a dagger to the heart. She could feel her eyes turning red and everything around her started glitching. Starfania's fists clenched at her sides, while her heart started beating at a rapid pace. Her teeth grounded together as she glared at Becka, the heat of her emotions clouding her vision. Becka seemed unfazed, embolden even, as though her silence was a confirmation of her twisted mind. She took a step closer, her voice lowering but retaining its sharp edge.
" Face it, Starfania, " she hissed, " your mother died because of you. She threw herself into danger to protect her precious daughter, who wasn't even worth it. And now, all you have left is this pathetic obsession with dragons–just like her. "
Her words cut like a knife, leaving Starfania's face pale and her eyes wide with shock. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut, unable to breathe or think clearly.
The memories of her mother's death came flooding back, and for a moment, she was a child again, helpless and scared. She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat as the woman's words echoed in her mind. You weren't worth it. The phrase replayed, taunting her, making her feel small. She looked away, trying to escape the pain, but it was everywhere, seeping into her very bones. However, that pain soon started to become rage, pure rage ones that even the King of Hell would fear. Starfania's face contorted, almost becoming something of a beast, or should I say, a monster. Her eyes blazed with an unsettling fire, reflecting a tempest brewing inside her. Her jaw clenched tightly, muscles twitching as if battling an invisible foe. Every breath was shallow and rapid, fueled by a fierce determination
Becka's group noticed and took caution steps, sensing the danger that Becka was in. Starfania's rage was that of a dragon that was getting ready to go in for the kill, but Becka's cockiness was causing her to be blind. One of them grabbed her arms and whispered urgently, " Becka, I think you better stop. She's about to explode! "
But Becka shook off the warning, her gaze fixed on Starfania with a mixture of contempt and triumph.
" Silence! " she snapped, her voice sharp and commanding. Then she walked even closer to Starfania, jabbing her finger into her chest. Making them back up to the locker. Aeron and Daniel tried to stop it but the Scarlet Rage were keeping them in place. As she leaned in closer to Starfania whispering, " and you want to know the cherry on top. You're just the falling ashes after a devastating forest fire whose job is to make everything look depressing. "
Her words hit like a thunderclap, igniting every ounce of buried pain and rage within her. The fire inside surged, consuming rational thoughts. Her vision blurred, and all she could feel was the overwhelming storm brewing inside.
