Chapter 38: Coral’s birthday party

At the Brook's.

Heloise sat on the couch, looking at the new newspaper in her hand, which she read upside down, which in Harriet and Jane's eyes became a sign that something was decidedly wrong with her mind.

But even with the paper upside down, Heloise knew exactly what was on it.

The Brook's had been in the headlines for a few days, and now that there was new hot news climbing up in the headlines, so the heat of the news about the Brook's superstitious ritual had dropped.

Humans were always the most forgetful beings.

After a while, no one would remember what the Brook's had done, and there would be as many Coral-obsessed geeks as ever.

Heloise realized that all she'd done was just served the Brook's an appetizer.

It looked like it was time to add more condiment to the dinner for the Brook's.

"So next weekend at 9:00 p.m., it's my girlfriend's birthday, and I'll be throwing a birthday party for her at Golden Cloud, so make sure you're there, and I'll pick you up at the door then."

Heloise remembered what Darnell said and had a new plan in her mind.

Just as she was thinking, she heard Harriet's gleeful voice, "Young Master had new fashions delivered. In fact, there are enough clothes to wear in Hyacinth Garden."

Heloise raised her head, and saw Jane standing in the living room with Harriet, carrying out a piece of beautiful clothes, looking up and down, marveling in awe, "This is incredibly beautiful, Miss will definitely look like a fairy on it, it's just a pity that Miss doesn't have a chance to wear it outside."

Heloise looked over. They were all very exquisite fashions indeed, among which there were also luxurious gowns.

Reginald said he was interested in her, but he had never really touched her, but just bought her clothes and shoes. He didn't know what he was thinking.

Was she a substitute or a pet plaything for him?

Would he really go to great trouble to hunt her and kill her just because she escaped?

Heloise couldn't figure it out.

Suddenly, she realized she was thinking about Reginald again, when she should have been thinking about the Brook's.

She patted herself on the head and forced herself to stop thinking about the man.

...

Before she knew it, it was the day of the weekend.

The Golden Cloud Hotel stood in the center of the PHOENIXFELL Capital.

It was brightly lit in the dressing room and Coral was dressed in a more elaborate evening gown with the help of the staff.

Today was her 21st birthday.

It took great craftsmanship to make the evening gown, which she had ordered three months ago. The gold color appeared to make her wheat-colored skin more glowing and hotter, and the bustier style was designed very sexy, with lace on the chest and a floor-length skirt tail. It was really gorgeous to the core.

"Wow, that's beautiful beyond imagination."

Several of Coral's friends stood there looking at her, all letting out a gasp in unison.

Coral was so proud of herself. One of her friends, Bena, said, "Coral, your family is really a big spender, and an entire floor of Golden Cloud Hotel is booked directly by you."

Everybody knew that the Golden Cloud Hotel was the most exclusive one in the PHOENIXFELL Empire, not one of them.

Ordinary people couldn't even enter it with money. Those who could access it had to have a powerful background to qualify for a reservation, and such a bold approach was unique in the PHOENIXFELL Empire and there was a lot of new money desperately trying to get a one-night stay at the Golden Cloud Hotel in order to stamp themselves as upper-class people.

And Coral not only got the qualification, but she also reserved the entire storey.

None of this was something people could get it done on an ordinary background.

"It's nothing."

Coral smiled smugly.

In fact, it was Darnell who had organized everything, he was the third young master of Smith's Consortium, and he should have tried some tricks to get his father to step in and reserve the whole storey for her birthday celebration.

Darnell had been pretty good to her indeed.

But unfortunately, he wouldn't be her optimal choice.

"I heard that there will be a lot of young gentlemen present at the party today. Coral, with so many rich kids surrounding you, which one are you finally choosing?" Another friend asked her.

Coral sat down in front of the make-up mirror, opened the jewellery box in her hand, and said, "They're all friends, and they're just here to congratulate me on my birthday, why do I have to pick them?"

"I envy you for having so many powerful friends." Bena sat enviously, "Why don't you introduce me to one of them?"

Coral smiled faintly and put her pink pearl earrings on, "Which one do you want me to introduce to you?"

"Could you please introduce me to the third young master of Smith's Consortium? I think he's the most handsome guy among this group of young masters from the Smith family."

Bena put her hands on her face, having romantic fantasies, "By the way, I just saw him outside. Will you let me make an acquaintance with him at dinner later?"

Coral had been claiming that she was single in order to constantly enhance her personal value in public, even her friends around her didn't know Darnell had been her boyfriend.

Coral glanced at Bena and snorted in her heart, she looked so average looking and still delusional about being with Darnell.

She smiled and didn't answer, asking, "Darnell? what's he doing out there?"

"Seems like he's waiting for someone, looking around, it looks as if he's in a hurry."

Bena said as she looked at the table full of jewelry with envy and jealousy.

Was Darnell waiting for someone?

Coral's gaze went cold for a moment, Darnell must be waiting for Heloise. How could Heloise dare to come to her birthday party?

...

The birthday party began.

The choreography was elegant, the lighting was cozy, and the venue was decorated with flowers everywhere, even on the top. It was almost like a large and exquisite garden at the venue, romantic to the extreme.

From afar, there was the singing stage and the dance hall, the moon palace and the cloud hall.

Those who Coral invited today were all young people, and although they were young, they were all rich and noble, all dressed in an extraordinary high in leading positions.

Suddenly, the music stopped and the lights of the scene dimmed.

The dinner party had officially begun.

The crowd looked up and saw Coral slowly falling down in an airy white swing, wearing a long golden dress with the tail trailing long and hanging in mid-air, the magnesium lamp creating a pair of wings of light behind her, making her beautiful as if she were a fairy descending to the earth.

Coral held up the headset on the side of her face, her red lips moving lightly as she sang a beautiful song.

She had a good voice that was described as heavenly by the crowd, and the coming out of her voice was so ethereal and melodious that it instantly drew everyone's attention.

Coral sat on the swing, looking down at the envious gazes of the crowd looking at her, her heart was very pleased.

The swing slowly descended.

The toes of the shoes landed on the ground.

Darnell, wearing a white gown, stepped on the light on the ground and walked step by step to Coral, and this gentleman elegantly extended his hand to her and invited her to have the first dance.

Coral smiled and put her hand in his.

The two of them started to dance.

The combination of a handsome man and a beautiful woman was extremely brilliant.

All the guests around them surrounded them, and the feeling of being noticed made Coral feel infinitely proud.

She deserved to live in the limelight.

"You look beautiful tonight."

Darnell embraced her, waltzing his fingers against her waist, looking at her with admiration in his eyes.

"Thank you for such a great birthday party."

Coral leaned into his ear and whispered.

If only it had been Reginald who had started the first dance with her tonight, she would surely have been the object of jealousy from all the women in the whole PHOENIXFELL Empire.

"I have another surprise for you."

Darnell lowered his head to whisper in her ear, his voice as gentle as water.

Did he also buy her some precious jewelry? Or was it the limited edition bag she mentioned last time?

Coral was speculating when the short dance song came to its finale and they both stopped.

"Coral, look! Who's here?"

Darnell said as he sidestepped his body.

Coral smiled and raised her eyes to look behind him, but the smile on her face froze for a moment.
