His Sad Past

Did he really see what he thought he saw?

Ryan felt something was weird. He immediately called Alexander on his smart watch.

"Hello, uncle. Why aren't you here to pick me up yet?"

"I'm on my way. Wait a little."

Alexander asked Ace to park the car on a nearby corner. From there they could secretly observe Sophia and the children.

"You are always busy with work. Are you still working? Have you forgotten what day it is?"

Ryan was irritated and hurt.

Before Alexander could explain, Ryan had already hung up in disappointment.

Ryan stood still in silence. His little body drooped down, making him look like an abandoned puppy.

Alexa and Axel glanced at each other. "Ryan, if your uncle isn't picking you up, you can come to our house," Alexa said. "Rocky isn't there, but we can play with Foodie."

Axel bumped Ryan' shoulder. "That's right. Let's go to our house and play."
