Chapter 104: Fighting Derek (Long)
Lu Zheng and Adara stared coldly at Derek as he floated before them, his expression as cruel as ever.
"Adara, stay out of this. This matter is between me and him" Derek said.
"And what if I refuse?" Adara's expression was firm.
"Hehehe, then you can only die with him"
Instantly, Derek's body shimmered from where he stood and he appeared right before Lu Zheng, his huge fist already bearing towards the latter's face.
Adara's instincts roared with alarm signals as lightning Qi enveloped her.
Like a flowing river, purple lightning struck towards Derek.
"Gbam!"
Derek's fist connected with Lu Zheng's face, sending the latter hurtling metres away. Just as the purple lightning was about to reach him, his body shimmered again and he appeared many metres away, chasing after Lu Zheng.
Lu Zheng felt dazed as he executed a strange footwork.
Afterimages formed in a blurry as he regained his bearings. Twin Deities of different constitutions formed beside him.
One boomed with thunder and was encased in blue lightning while the other was like a fire demon, completely engulfed in Vermillion True Flame.
"Tch!" Derek's body shimmered and instantly, he was right before Lu Zheng.
"Quick Steps!" Lu Zheng did not hesitate, widening the gap between him and Derek.
Adara wasn't idle as a net of purple lightning formed around Derek's body in a bid to trap him.
"Little tricks like this can't stop me" Derek's voice was extremely cold as his body shimmered.
The next moment, he was behind Adara.
"Hmm!" Adara was stunned but was unable to react swiftly. With a slap, she was tossed away by Derek.
Lu Zheng watched Derek whose form shimmered and disappeared as he fought with Adara.
It was like Derek was spatial skipping but it was different.
When Lu Zheng spatial skipped, it was instantaneous. One moment he was here and the very next moment he was somewhere else without the slightest time lag.
Derek on the other hand seemed to be swimming through spatial currents without materialising in the real world.
The method of movement was extremely swift but it was still slower compared to spatial skipping.
Unfortunately, Derek had used his bloodline abilities to seal the space here. It would be very difficult to use space path techniques here.
"Hmph!" Lu Zheng snorted indignantly.
Bloodline power rushed from his blood vessels as golden runes formed in his blood.
His dark hair became a mixture of white and red as his body grew taller. His skin became red and his eyes changed colours from black like the abyss to the deepest tinge of red and the coldest form of blue.
Thunder boomed from his body as wind currents and lightning bolts enveloped his body.
An omnipotent aura radiated from Lu Zheng that forced one to concede to him.
"The Vermillion Bird Race" Derek's body formed beside Lu Zheng. "I've always wanted to fight the Regal Bloodlines!"
Derek threw a fist but it seemed like time slowed down from Lu Zheng's perspective. He easily dodged the punch and retaliated with his own.
In an instant, Derek was thrown several metres.
Lu Zheng did not pause. Three sharp waves of wind formed around him before cutting towards Derek.
When Lu Zheng used only one Pulse Cutting Wave against Tammy, she was unable to survive it.
Three similar waves were cutting towards Derek now.
"Hmph!" Derek's body shimmered again and formed out of the path of the Pulse Cutting Waves.
Just as his body had formed, a thunder ball made of purple lightning struck him from the back before exploding soundlessly.
"Adara-huh!" Derek let out a mouthful of blood as his body shimmered.
The next moment, he was behind Lu Zheng.
Lu Zheng did not move and only smiled. Mei Luan cut from the air in a deadly arc towards Derek's neck.
When the blade was only millimetres from decapitating him, space froze and Derek's body shimmered again.
The moment he appeared, the Fire Deity and Lightning Deity rushed him with a number of fire path and lightning path techniques.
Again, he was forced to use his movement technique.
No matter where he appeared, someone or something would be waiting for him and he would be at an impasse.
From the beginning of the fight, Derek was unable to show his true battle strength.
"Enough!" Derek screamed as Fire Dragons and Lightning Dragons dove towards him.
Space was enlarged greatly and the distance between Derek and the dragons became inconceivable.
Spatial rifts tore around Derek as spatial blades as dark as darkness itself formed around him.
Derek was panting as he controlled the spatial blades to strike Lu Zheng and Adara.
Lu Zheng executed his footwork and appeared beside Adara with Mei Luan in his hands.
"Good. I'll kill you both together" Derek laughed maniacally as the spatial blades descended towards Lu Zheng and Adara, leaving spatial rifts in their wake.
Lu Zheng chuckled slightly and replied: "Not today"
Space Qi poured into Lu Zheng's fingertips as he tore at space. Like before, it did not budge.
"It's no use. I used my bloodline abilities to seal this space. Accept your deaths now" Derek said after regaining his composure.
Lu Zheng ignored him as he continued pouring space Qi into his fingertips. Adara launched attacks after attacks at the spatial blades, destroying many in the process.
However, the spatial blades were too much. It was only a matter of time till they were diced up.
Just as Adara had begun to panic, a spatial passage the size of a human child formed before Lu Zheng.
Without much thinking, Lu Zheng and Adara escaped through the spatial passage.
"Fuc-huh!" Derek was about to cuss when he coughed up mouthfuls of blood.
He had used his bloodline abilities to seal this space so when Lu Zheng tore it, he received a backlash.
"I won't let you escape" Determination flashed past Derek's eyes as he flew towards the small spatial passage.
The spatial blades that almost rendered Adara and Lu Zheng disappeared as Derek's body shimmered repeatedly.
The moment he stepped into the spatial passage, an explosion so loud that nuclear bombs would sound like car horns compared to it occurred.
Space tore and ripped apart mercilessly as the spatial passage closed.
On the other side, Lu Zheng and Adara were catching their breaths.
Lu Zheng and Adara had used lightning Qi to form numerous thunder bombs which they detonated at the entrance of the spatial passage.
They knew that Derek would have wanted to enter the spatial passage to chase them till he killed them.
"Is he dead?" Adara asked.
"Unlikely" Lu Zheng replied. "He is a Green Vacuum Ghoul. The outer void is like his playground. Let's leave quickly before he returns"
