Chapter 118: Yama King

The five men that stood with Meng Tuo charged into the midst of the soul beasts and took on the four Shi siblings as their opponents, stopping their momentum.

Lightning path was the bane of soul path. If soul path dao imprints did not exist in the Soul Lake but on the body, it would be impossible to dual cultivate both paths.

Lu Zheng was a lightning path martial practitioner and he was very well the bane of the soul beasts. However, Lu Zheng did not use lightning path techniques against the soul beasts because he wanted to preserve their soul cores.

Fire raged from Lu Zheng's position as ice consumed numerous soul beasts, sending them to their graves.

The soul cores were instantly kept in his spatial ring as he flew into the air to get a better view of the situation.

Lu Zheng felt the gravity of them main world to be several times that of Earth's but this was the environment he was naturally accustomed to. The extra gravity did not slow him down.

He could see the how everyone fought. The Shi siblings took on five men at once and held the upper hand firmly.

If it were not for the beasts that caused disturbance at every crucial point, the five men would have died a long time ago.

The two women that supported the Shi siblings were surrounded by soul beasts at all sides but they were not panicked. Soul beasts fell in droves around them.

The only people who weren't busy were Lu Zheng and Meng Tuo.

"Enslavement path martial practitioner…" Lu Zheng's eyes glistened as he stared at Meng Tuo who sent orders to the soul beasts around him.

Meng Tuo caught his gaze and his expression changed into distaste. Instantly, two of the soul beasts that surrounded him charged towards Lu Zheng.

The auras of the two soul beasts displayed their rank six cultivation blatantly.

Lu Zheng smiled bitterly as Vermillion Blood droplets swirled around him. The Vermillion Blood droplets came together and turned into huge crimson balls.

The Flame Balls danced eerily in the air before striking the two rank six soul beasts.

"Boom!"

A deafening explosion rang through the air as debris filled the atmosphere. When the debris cleared, two soul beasts stood in the midst of an inferno of Vermillion True Flame with angry expressions.

"Hmph!" Lu Zheng waved as sleeves as sharp winds flowed out from them. Blue lightning bolts curled within the sharp winds, twisting into a tornado.

The soul beasts did not stand a chance. Thunder rumbled as blue lightning struck, sharp winds tore many soul beasts apart.

The two rank six soul beasts within the tornado struggled for a while before exploding into nothingness. In their place were two large soul cores.

The tornado disappeared in an instant and Lu Zheng dove to pick the soul cores and stored them. The rank five soul cores that lay around him were absorbed immediately as the cracks on his soul mended a little.

Shi Yulan watched as Lu Zheng obliterated a mass of soul beasts and her heart shook. She was glad that they were not going against him.

Lu Zheng's thoughts churned as his body disappeared from where he stood and entered the mass of soul beasts, cutting them apart with Mei Luan.

He was remembering all he knew about enslavement path.

The progenitor of enslavement path was the Yama King, a Venerable of the Remote Primeval Era, the same era as Reverend Spectral Demon.

The Yama King had peak of Venerable realm cultivation base and cultivated three paths; enslavement path, soul path and death path. He was a publicly acknowledged genius that even created his own battlefield [1]; the Yama Battlefield.

He was Reverend Spectral Demon's greatest foe before the latter became a Reverend and killed him.

The Yama King's greatest achievement was surviving an attack from a Reverend but eventually, he paid with his life and Yama Battlefield merged with the main world's landscape.

Lu Zheng recalled something he had learnt from his past lifetime. Enslavement path martial practitioners were usually weak in one on one combat and they generally relied on their beasts for fights.

This was also why Meng Tuo laid on the back of a rank six soul beast without participating in the fight personally.

Enslavement path martial practitioners were like snakes. Behead the snake and the body would die.

It was the easiest way to kill an enslavement path martial practitioner – assassination!

[1] A battlefield is a place like an artificial Secluded Domain of Heaven and Earth that displays the profundities of certain paths.
