Chapter 127: Beastman Race’s Sacrifice

Lu Zheng sat in his room with his legs crossed. His eyes were focused on the three crystals floating above his palm.

The crystals were a deep sanguine red and gave off a faint bloodthirsty aura. Even as they floated above his palm, Lu Zheng could sense a strong attraction from his blood towards the three crystals.

"Life Blood Crystals…" Lu Zheng muttered slowly.

He was the incarnation of Xue Ritian. Naturally, he knew what Life Blood Crystals were.

They were the crystalline condensation of the entire human Qi of a martial practitioner. Absorbing it could elevate a martial practitioner's aptitude and even break bottlenecks.

Lu Zheng knew that the Life Blood Crystals were formed from the deaths of many martial practitioners but he did not care.

Many others would consider them evil and would destroy them immediately but Lu Zheng's thoughts were otherwise.

Why would he have treasures in his grasps and then proceed to destroy them?

To him, only people who were weak willed would be unable to use the Life Blood Crystals to aid their cultivation.

Lu Zheng stored two of the Life Blood Crystals in his spatial ring and held the third in his palms.

A faint sanguine light radiated from it as blood Qi flowed into Lu Zheng's blood vessels.

Lu Zheng's blood churned and boiled as blood Qi flowed into it. Golden runes formed within the Vermillion Blood.

Pain wrapped around Lu Zheng as fire Qi burst from his body in columns.

"Arrgh!" Lu Zheng's body became a deep tinge of red as the fire Qi that burst from him thickened.

Strong flames combusted around him as myriad images danced within the flames.

Dragons soared in the sky as serpents crawled on the earth, horses made of flames danced around Lu Zheng.

Lu Zheng's eyes rolled into his sockets as the pain from his latent potential been squeezed out tore through his body. Within moments, he lost his consciousness.

The Life Blood Crystal stuck to Lu Zheng's palm as a thin cocoon of blood wrapped around Lu Zheng's body.

His robes burnt into nothingness and golden runes formed on his skin.

…..

Lu Zheng's eyelids parted as a slight breeze blew past him.

When his eyes opened, he saw that he was surrounded by a verdant field of green grass.

The grass reached his knees and seemed to extend to the very horizon.

"I'm here again" Lu Zheng thought to himself as he gazed at himself.

He was garbed in simple clothing that seemed to be worn out by the sands of time.

Lu Zheng shook his head as he walked in a random direction.

He saw the two mortal men that fought but ignored them. He already knew that consulting them was a waste time.

He was looking for something else.

Lu Zheng continued walking before suddenly stopping in his tracks. Standing before him was a woman so beautiful, words could not describe her.

The woman turned to face Lu Zheng before smiling warmly: "You finally came"

"Ya Lin Xi…" Lu Zheng muttered in surprise.

"Ah? You've finally come" The woman beamed a warm smile.

Lu Zheng felt a wave of sorrow sweep over him as tears formed in his eyes.

"Come, I have things to show you" Ya Lin Xi's voice was impossibly serene.

Lu Zheng blinked the tears away as he walked after her. After a short distance, the surroundings morphed into something else.

The sky turned dark with numerous stars dotting the sky. A full moon stood coldly in the sky, shining bright lights to the ground.

Before the two of them was a large gathering of people. Shouts of celebration could be heard as they danced around a large bonfire.

When Lu Zheng walked closer, he saw that the people dancing around the bonfire had distinctive appearances. Their bodies were like humans but their heads were those of different animals.

At their centre was a huge tree towering above the people. Many human children were tied to the tree with thick ropes.

"The Beastman race's celebration" Lu Zheng understood with a glance.

During his past lifetime as Xue Ritian, he had explored the main world and observed many rites and traditions of myriad races.

The Beastman race's celebration was the one that shook him the most.

During a full moon, beastmen would capture human mortals and bind them to trees to offer as sacrifices to their ancestor.

The human mortals would be slayed and eaten raw amidst joy and glee.

Lu Zheng did not understand why Ya Lin Xi was showing him this.

"Watch closely" Ya Lin Xi muttered slowly as if reading Lu Zheng's mind.

By the time the words left Ya Lin Xi's lips, Lu Zheng recognised one of the human children.

It was the young Xue Ritian!
