Chapter 168: Red Claw Meadow

The Commander was extremely shocked. He could not forget Lu Zheng's face from when he easily beat Ni Tao in the Battle Arena. After all, he had lost a huge bet because of the man.

The only reason he had not recognised Lu Zheng earlier was because he was somehow unable to gaze at the man properly, like he was obscured by a screen of fog.

"Is he also here for the gentle face orchids?" The Commander became suspicious as he slowly approached Lu Zheng.

Just as he moved towards Lu Zheng, strong winds bellowed from nowhere before moving towards the treants like an unstoppable tsunami. Any treant that was caught in it was cut into bits without the slightest of resistances. It was like hot knife through butter.

"This… was it him?" The Commander whose name was Qing Shou Jian was surprised. "I thought he was a lightning path martial practitioner"

Lu Zheng did not let up as great balls of flame appeared around him before flying towards the remaining treants. Instantly, they caught ablaze and burnt into nothingness, leaving soot as the only sign of their existence.

Qing Shou Jian was stunned: "Just like that! How strong is he?"

Lu Zheng turned around before calling out: "You can come out now"

"Hmph! What makes you think I was hiding? I only wanted to see your true strength" Zuo Xiuzhen babbled as she flew towards Lu Zheng.

Although that's what she said, her face was completely filled with shock. Even though she knew Lu Zheng had exceptional battle strength, she did not expect it to be so great.

Lu Zheng only chuckled before gazing at Qing Shou Jian: "How can I help you?"

Qing Shou Jian could not help but become flustered. When Lu Zheng had beaten Ni Tao in the Battle Arena with one punch, everyone quickly knew him to be a lightning path cultivator.

Despite seeing Lu Zheng's fire path methods, Qing Shou Jian wasn't too surprised. After all, dual cultivating was a very common concept. What shocked him was the immense battle strength Lu Zheng had suddenly displayed.

Everyone had thought that Lu Zheng had used his strongest technique against Ni Tao in the Battle Arena but from what he could see now, the man seemed to have held back to a great level.

Lu Zheng casually stored the few beast cores that survived in his spatial ring as Qing Shou Jian cupped his fists: "This junior greets Senior Lu"

Seeing the respectful expression on Qing Shou Jian's face, Lu Zheng couldn't help but chuckle: "What makes you think I'm a senior?"

Lu Zheng now had ninety two soul path dao imprints and was very keen to things of the soul. He could even estimate how old Qing Shou Jian's host soul was and it was far older than the short time he had spent in this lifetime.

Qing Shou Jian laughed awkwardly. He did not expect Lu Zheng to respond like that.

"It is alright. You can call me Lu Zheng" Lu Zheng smiled. "You still haven't answered my question, how can I help you?"

This was the second time Qing Shou Jian was hearing the question but he still faltered.

Initially, he had marched on to prove his strength to Lu Zheng but the latter did not even give him a whiff of a chance. His value was surely depreciated to Lu Zheng.

Summoning courage, Qing Shou Jian replied: "My Moon Lake Squad needs your help to harvest gentle face orchids"

"Huh?" Lu Zheng was pleasantly surprised.

…..

Inside a simple house within the Battle Arena's City, a burly man sat on an exquisite bed. His face was pale from losing too much blood and in his belly was a gaping hole through which one could see his intestines.

He placed his hand on the hole as Qi poured from his meridians to suppress the injury. He was Ni Tao, the man Lu Zheng had beaten.

Sitting before him was a green haired man dressed in black. The man's body was extremely translucent and seemed intangible. It was like he was a ghost wandering the living world.

The man had a peculiar background that could scare anyone out of their wits. He was from the Void Ghoul Race. Despite the scary nature of the Void Ghouls, Ni Tao did not even show an expression of fear in the least bit. In fact, he had a large smile on his face.

He was Ni Tao's best friend, Copper Totem Master.
