In the cultivation world, there was a very famous saying; "People may lie but titles never". Immortal Star was the greatest example of this.
On Earth when he fought Lu Zheng for the first time in the layered realm, he was killed by Lu Zheng. A little after that, he revived and sought Lu Zheng again.
This time, Lu Zheng thought he killed him but who would have thought that Immortal Star would refine himself into an imprint on Lu Zheng's body. He waited till Lu Zheng reached the Acquisition realm before he revived.
Immortal Star knew he had taken a huge risk when he refined himself into an imprint.
The technique was his last resort for revival and if the host was alive, he would be revived with the cultivation base of the host. However, if Lu Zheng had died, Immortal Star would have died with Lu Zheng.
Yet, he knew why he had taken the risk. He knew Lu Zheng's potential and knew that it would not be too long for the man to reach the Acquisition realm.
Immortal Star knew that he had reached a bottleneck in his cultivation base and that he couldn't breakthrough to the second tier of Void Passage realm on his own. This was why he had taken the risk for Lu Zheng to kill me.
The only reason Immortal Star was stunned was that he did not expect to revive after only three years. He had expected to revive only after a few centuries.
"What talent" Immortal Star shook his head. He scanned his surroundings and was greatly stunned. "This is not Earth"
The place he was in was like a grand desert. There was no single plant in the place but Immortal Star knew, this place was not normal.
The earth path dao imprints in this place were very sparse but the soul path dao imprints were extremely dense. It was like millions of Sky realm experts had died in this place.
Immortal Star could not think of a place on Earth that was like this.
"Huh? Why is her face flushed?" Immortal Star muttered quizzically as he gazed at his own body only to see his little brother greeting the world.
"Hmm!" Immortal Star quickly noticed his error as starlight gathered around him, obscuring his body.
"Clang!"
The sound of metal striking metal reverberated through the air, attracting Zuo Xiuzhen and Immortal Star's attention.
Just behind Immortal Star was a tall, slender man with a simple face. He held a dagger near Lu Zheng's nape. A long red and white sword stood arrogantly in the dagger's path, saving Lu Zheng's life.
"A sword spirit?" Louis was shocked. He dual cultivated space path and death path and was a deadly assassin. He had killed many people that they did not even know how they died.
Since Lu Zheng's tribulation started, he had hidden in the spatial gaps, waiting for the chance to kill Lu Zheng. Now, a sword spirit had rendered all of his efforts useless.
"Bastard!" Immortal Star's heart jumped. His revival method had another flaw. After revival, his life would still be linked with the host's life for many periods of time. If Lu Zheng died, he would die too.
Starlight gushed from his ten fingers as they tapped at the void rhythmically. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of star cores had formed around him, creating a small nebula.
Immortal Star pushed his palms forward as the star cores descended rapidly to pelt Louis.
"Hmph!" Louis snorted as his figure faded. Although he cultivated space path, he could not skip through space like Lu Zheng.
Instead, he hid in spatial gaps where nobody could perceive his life aura.
It was the very foundation of his abilities as an assassin.
The star cores continued to descend but under Immortal Star's control, none of them struck Lu Zheng. A small space that could only contain Lu Zheng formed around him.
Mei Luan appeared as she wielded her Immortal Sword. Her Sea of Consciousness was like a murky ethereal sea that perceived all of her surroundings.
Zuo Xiuzhen was not idle either as light Qi poured from her body. Her body was like an angel's as she took an attacking stance.
It was like the saying, "Once bitten, twice shy"
