Chapter 226: Needle Lightning Grass

Southern Border, Bai Xi Mountain

Bai Xi Mountain was incredibly tall that its peak seemed to pierce heaven itself. Lush green grass covered the mountain and frozen caps of ice formed at the peak.

To the right of Bai Xi Mountain, a steep cliff with a precipice made out of thick ice like glass extended to the peak. It was the result of a technique used by the great ice path martial practitioner, Bai Xi during an intense battle.

Lu Zheng moved swiftly through the sky, Houyan Meili and Zuo Xiuzhen flew closely with him. Immortal Star had awoken along the journey, he also flew with them as star dust flowed from his sleeves.

After some moments, Lu Zheng stopped before the steep cliff of Bai Xi Mountain, his Sea of Consciousness was like ethereal tendrils that swept in all directions.

The cliff was incredibly wide that ten men the size of Devil Lord Edu Shashou would not be able to fill it up.

~It should be around here, somewhere…~

Lu Zheng moved along the precipice, his Sea of Consciousness could sense everything. The subtle flow of cold wind, the winged glacier crickets that burrowed into the ice, the invisible formation in the space…

"Found it!" Lu Zheng's eyes glistened sharply. His Soul Lake rippled in its frozen state as his host soul flew upwards. "Take care of my body for a quick moment"

Zuo Xiuzhen and Houyan Meili did not understand Lu Zheng's words but soon they did.

Lu Zheng's body slumped and fell downwards as a similar figure flew out of it.

The figure was exceedingly small, only the size of a finger but its aura was incredibly strong. The three felt like they were staring at a demon incarnate.

The small figure was Lu Zheng's host soul.

Zuo Xiuzhen was swift to catch Lu Zheng's body. She knew Lu Zheng was a soul path martial practitioner but she did not know that he could easily separate his soul from his body.

Void Passage realm experts could separate their souls from their bodies and escape into the outer void to comprehend the intricacies of their Dao but it was not easy. Each travel was like crossing the eight levels of hell and returning. Many even died but those that survived knew it was worth it.

A sharp light crossed Immortal Star's eyes but he ignored the urge to hold Lu Zheng's body hostage. After living in the depths of Lu Zheng's Soul Lake, he understood a shred of the man's nature.

Even though he hadn't spoken to him since he revived, Lu Zheng was surely going to do something to him.

~Ah? He did not take the bait~

Lu Zheng shook his head and approached the formation in the space. The formation was exceedingly small and even though Xue Ritian had hastily created it, no one other than Lu Zheng could sense it.

Red lights like thin strands of hair spread from the formation and extended towards Lu Zheng. Lu Zheng allowed the red lights to fall on him.

The red lights moved gently through Lu Zheng's body, sensing if it was the reincarnated soul of Xue Ritian. After a while, the red lights connected and became a spatial passage.

"Finally" Lu Zheng sighed with emotion before returning to his body. "Let's go in"

Unhesitantly, Lu Zheng entered the spatial passage. Zuo Xiuzhen was the second to enter before Houyan Meili and Immortal Star followed behind him.

Lu Zheng's vision changed from the precipice of Bai Xi Mountain to a huge plain of tall grasses.

The grasses were only as thick as a finger but they were tens of times taller than Lu Zheng. The sides and tips of the grasses were exceedingly sharp and if a person brushed against them, hundreds of thousands of volts of electricity would stab into the person.

Mortals called the grasses death needles because of their pointed tips and dangerous lightning path abilities but martial practitioners knew they were rank ten lightning path cultivation materials – needle lightning grass.

Shortly after, Zuo Xiuzhen, Houyan Meili and Immortal Star appeared around him.

"This…" Immortal Star was stunned by the sheer height of the needle lightning grass. A few brushed against him and he felt like his entire body was being stabbed by needles. Sharp currents of electricity flashed inside him.

Lu Zheng did not even speak as he flew out of the needle lightning grass field. The entire scenery of the realm entered his vision.

The sky was a faint tinge of red as massive amounts of lightning of different colours zigzagged through it. Thunder boomed constantly as the lightning bolts struck. It was as if all hell had been let loose.

Lu Zheng's gaze was solemn as he recalled a certain memory.
