It took many days but the Nine Patterns Demon Fox were finally exterminated. An Yin and the others slumped to the ground, they were truly exhausted.
When they saw Lu Zheng who was still standing, they were unable to explain how they felt.
How can a human have more stamina than us?
Then their gazes would land on Immortal Star too.
Where did these freaks come from!?
Pity, maybe if they knew that Lu Zheng had the Regal Bloodline of the Vermillion Bird Race and the uniqueness of Immortal Star's star cores, they would feel better.
Lu Zheng shook his head and flew towards the encampment walls. The earth path formation was damaged in many areas and needed fixing. In those places, Lu Zheng would have to inscribe lines to complete the broken Primordial Spirit Vein that made the formation.
The process was even more difficult than inscribing the original Primordial Spirit Vein. Some of the earth path materials were even thoroughly destroyed by the attacks of the Nine Patterns Demon Foxes.
The earth path formation was firmly at the peak of rank seven but it was severely damaged by the first beast tide. Lu Zheng knew it was wise to strengthen it.
The others were all recuperating due to low Essence, no one was watching. Carefully, Lu Zheng replaced one of the rank six earth path materials with a rank eight earth path material.
He had lied when he said he had none.
Lu Zheng completed a lap around the inside of the S grade encampment. The formation had been fully repaired and strengthened. Unwilling to waste much time, he channeled the power of the formation.
A low tremor occurred from the walls like the humming of the earth as pale yellow lights surrounded the pitch black encampment walls. The martial warriors that were recuperating were stunned as they quickly stood up in fear.
"Are we under attack?" Cangxiang Zihan asked.
The others exchanged glances and understood something. No one knew what was going on.
"Wait, where's Lu Zheng?" Immortal Star asked. Although he said that, there was no hint of worry in his tone.
Before anyone else could speak, Lu Zheng appeared right beside them and smiled faintly: "Did you miss me?"
Immortal Star snorted and sat cross-legged again. He quietly resumed his cultivation like he was not the one that had asked the question.
"Where were you?" An Yin asked. "The next beast tide might be upon us anytime soon and we can't afford anyone playing around"
The others did not speak but from their stances, one could tell that they agreed with An Yin.
Lu Zheng felt too lazy to reply and just gazed at the sky. The rest of them followed his gaze and were surprised by what they saw.
A faint yellowish layer of sand had agglomerated into a transparent dome above their heads. The dome was made of fine sand grains that seemed to be even smaller than particles of dust and powder. Even so, they could see through the dome like there was nothing there.
It was a wonder.
"A dome?" The question fell out of their mouths in unison.
An Yin quickly understood what Lu Zheng had been doing and felt bad: "I…"
Lu Zheng's eyes widened in surprise as he interrupted An Yin: "They're coming!"
Everyone was bewildered as they released their Seas of Consciousness at the same time: "Where?"
Lu Zheng did not explain himself and instead ordered them to take their positions. Although they were unwilling, they still obeyed. They could still remember Lu Zheng's astonishing perception.
Two silent minutes passed and yet there was nothing. The martial warriors felt like they were being played with.
An Yin's face turned dark as he stared at Lu Zheng: "What is the meaning of this?"
As if it was pre-planned, a massive thud sounded from the walls and an earthquake followed.
Yong Bai Shun's eyes widened in horror as he screamed: "Beast tide!"
Below the encampment walls was a river that was almost forty metres wide. The river water was shiny and it was impossible to see a person's reflection in it. The water was also completely transparent that it was difficult to see it.
Inside the river were many beasts on a scale many times larger than the previous beast tide.
These beasts were all exceptionally large and were all different. There were apes, leopards, tigers, rats, roosters and a myriad other animals. All the beasts radiated strong rank eight aura.
"What is this?" Yu Er Dan muttered with a pale expression.
"These… are day beasts"
