A Lost Eye

During my slumber,

I dream that I peer through my bathroom mirror.

Skin falls off my face,

And my right eye is away.

"For one to die, they must shed,

My new skin will appear undead.

A translucent glow appears among my face,

My core has been saved."

.

Nothing is inside the tear,

Only shade exists beyond despair.

This summer suffering has been sent away,

One where a disturbing message replays throughout my day.

'My skin meliorates as the days lose pace,

No one sees this refining delay,

And how my body must cleanse its rusty plague.'

.

My old skin tarnishes like an outlived germ,

No disinfectant can revitalize this worm,

I exfoliate my outdated ways ----

And see how my right eye influences the flake.

My skin peels off!

Inside, it looks like dusk.

.

My eye's coat lives through my negative thoughts,

Ra discards the dust.

I falsify the evil,

And warm myself against the medieval,

One that prevents anymore diabolical plots,

My dead skin can fully rot.

The sun shines through this interstice,

Where my whimsical shell is abstinent.

'My missing eye has gone,

What has this human done?'
