"What did you steal?" Velma asked the moment Tewkesbury's car had disappeared, leaving a cloud of smoke. Velma found the smell unsettling. If seemed as if the city was clouded in that smell.

"He means the gold we had in the sack." she replied, turning to face the door.

"There was gold in the sack!" Velma exclaimed. Tyla placed her hands over her mouth.

"Don't be so loud," she whispered harshly. "We don't know how the humans are like. I don't want any robbers to be attracted to us."

"Where did you get it from" she asked.

"Tharnis," she said lifting the sack. "In case the doctor was going to ask for payment."

"What if he does not accept it as payment?"

"We do not know the currency the humans spend but a gold coin is universal," Tyla explained. "No one says no to gold. Ever."
