Chapter Eighty-Nine: A Heavy Question

Meredith stared at the stars as she thought about Darius. Since he had left she had missed him tremendously. If he were here he would have made a joke to cheer her up.

When Artemis had banished him from the land she had known that the prophecy was only drawing nearer to be fulfilled. The prophecy that surrounded his death was so powerful that it almost killed him before he was even born and so she had had to keep him in hiding since his birth hence he had lived as the son of a lowly servant instead of the son of a noble man and powerful mother.

"Madam, the Alpha summons you," Festus a guard disrupted her chain of thought.

"Your Majesty," Meredith bowed as she entered Artemis throne room. He was alone as court had ended for the day.

"Meredith, it has been a while," Artemis remarked.
