Dr. Barton's brow furrowed in confusion as he scanned the room, his eyes darting around in search of Velma's familiar form. Sensing the tension in the air, he turned to Dr. Titus with a look of concern etched upon his features.

"Where is the girl?" Dr. Barton inquired, his voice laced with a hint of urgency.

"She had to be excused," Dr. Titus replied. "Although it seems as though they are taking too long. Let us check for them."

As Dr. Barton and Dr. Titus emerged from the secret passage into the dimly lit ward, their expressions hardened with determination as they scanned the room for any sign of Velma's whereabouts. The air crackled with tension as they exchanged a silent glance, their shared purpose driving them forward in pursuit of their elusive captive.
