Chapter One Hundred & Forty Two: Gifts, Magic, Power & Energy

"We do," Fern replied. "In the city, there are air carriages. Instead of horses, we use unicorns. The tread in the sky and not on land."

"That sounds fascinating," Velma said with a smile. "How long is it till we get to the city?"

"We are in the city, we just have not gotten our of the grave garden. There is a substantial distance between the main city and the garden to respect our ancestors."

"Why is that?"

"So we do not disturb their rest with our daily life."

Velma only nodded, quite tired of the little journey they had made. Her legs were beginning to ache her already.

She stopped and took in a deep breath. "Wait!"

Fern stopped and turned to face her. "What is the matter?"

"As you can see, I am exhausted."

"It happens for every new comer," Fern shrugged. "Exhaustion sets in easily because of the time difference. Imagine walking this far within seconds in the land of humans, wolves or vampires?"
