Chapter One Hundred & Forty-Eight: The Cult Spy

Dana invited Vivian to the palace days after she had gone through the letter and found evidence that indeed her friend was blackmailed. She wanted to find out more but Vivian pleaded that should Dana launch an investigation into the matter whoever had been behind the blackmail would begin to kill everyone on the list he had and that included her.

"Should her entire family and yours die it would never compensate for the king's death!" shouted the queen, anger coursing through her veins like the torrents of an ocean.

"Your Majesty, I only plead your compassion on the matter," begged Vivian, tears in her eyes.

"My compassion? Have you not been told? I have no heart so what compassion do you speak off?" asked Dana coldly.

Vivian was not sure how to respond to this; she had heard that the new monarch had a reputation for being ruthless but she knew that it would be worse if the queen had diacivered that she had hidden or destroyed evidence to the case.
