Chapter One Hundred & Sixty: Desperation

"You are right," Evgenikós said. "She would not tell me until she is done needing me."

"How does time work in your lands?"

"The same as the land of the Fae and druids," Evgenikós replied. Hundreds of years could go by and it would just be a month in the human land. So we do not age rapidly until several decades."

"So like the vampires then," Velma said. "The difference being a vampire day is equal to a human day."

"Exactly. Whereas a day varies between minutes and hours in the human, wolf and vampire world."

"I see. Why does it vary though?"

"I am not sure I can explain why," Evgenikós shrugged. "The gods know best."

"I suppose they do," Velma sighed. "Your meetings that hold once a week..."

"Once in two or three months there... I think?" Shrugged Evgenikós. "Shall we wait till then?"

"Of course not, I do not have the time," she said. "I need to be at the land of Druids."
