Chapter One Hundred & Seventy Two: Choices

Adelaide had surrendered to herself to her situation but she while she remained calm she observed her prison. It was a spacious bedroom designed very much like hers. She could see that her drawer contained an array of hair pins which she knew could be very useful in the advent of an escape. She also noticed that the maid came in and left at exactly the same time every day. She could also predict the maid's movement.

It was not going to be easy but she was confident if she planned well she could pull an escape. But escape to where? There was a raging war on the outside and she was certain Vallus had surrounded the house with soldiers.

Her maid came in and Adelaide took on broken look. She wanted the maid to believe that she had no absolutely no desire to escape her situation.
