Adelaide was not sure why Vallus had come to check o her but she was certain that she had to make an escape. She was already heavy and with each new day she could feel her baby growing bigger and getting ready to come into the world.

Adelaide had been putting the drug she had been given on the chains that bound her to the bed. However it was my until a full week later that the maid noticed them. Adelaide was not sure how she had missed it this far but it did not matter.

"You have not been swallowing your drugs," the maid said. If she were not confined she would have replied by rolling her eyes and saying, "as you can see."

"Do you think I am going to poison you?" quipped the maid.
