Chapter 52 - Planning an attack
— But what really mean by making Caspian a target? — asked Guilherme.
— Means we'll keep an eye on him and make your life hell.
— Isn't that an overstatement?
— It's an exaggeration the guy getting quarrelling with us every time we meet — Growl Matheus with some impatience — And I even warned Milles that the business was going to burn.
— Milles?
— Akaguia's captain and my cousin — Explained Jake to Nathaniel.
— Wait a minute, I don't understand anything. Isn't Rapoxia just a volleyball team?
It made sense the Guilherme's confusion, Jake had only explained above to Nathaniel too. The alpha stared at his best friend and both agreed to open the game for the brothers.
— Rapoxia was created when I joined the volleyball team two years ago — Jake explained — It was kind of unintentionally, in fact, since I was more focused on making friends and creating connections with people who had money.

— It's quiet, but I got a message from my cousin saying that my uncles are impatient.

— It means my parents are planning something. — The pensive alpha murmured — Probably that marriage thing.
The silence that arose on the table made Jake remember that he had not yet discussed this matter with Nathaniel. Watching him singing, Jake could see that he did not seem bothered and only ate while listening to the conversation silently.
It may seem quiet, but certainly your head should be noisy.
— M-Marriage? — Guilherme was surprised, so looking at his brother — Wait a minute, you two are not together?

— If that girl is a spy, then the McKenzie are likely to know about Nathaniel — Matheus remembered it seriously.
— Haa... this is gonna be a pain — Jake sighed depressed — When I was with Theodore, they got into my ex-father-in-law's job. If they know I'm with Nath now, what the hell are they gonna do?
— They would have that courage? — Asked Guilherme innocently. Then the three boys stared at the beta without answering, until he smiled — I mean, my dad works in the army.
— Yeah... they're not stupid to try to get their hands on a major's family.
It would be idiotic. It is a relief that Nathaniel and Guilherme were safe with the influence of the army, which would hardly be influenced by the McKenzie. As far as the alpha knew, his family is too cowardly to try and take on the army.

If your family knew something about Ares, especially something that the media and people didn't know, then it would be a trick they'd use against Jake to get what they want. Or worse, they would try to use Nathaniel because of his relationship with Ares.
Jake needed to have this card in his sleeve before his parents.
— Nath, when was this meeting?

The rest of the lunch was just talking about planning how they would deal with Caspian. Even as the four returned to college after lunch they discussed the matter seriously.
Jake's head was boiling with such concern. He also felt anxious to see the various routes that would make his parents touch Nathaniel. The nervousness to try to protect his omega could blind him if he was mastered, only that it was difficult to stay calm.
He needed to find a way to get the upper hand.
Keep Bianca under his watch, find out what the McKenzie talked to Ares three years ago and keep Caspian away from Guilherme and Nathaniel.
Still in the car, waiting for Matheus to park, Jake picked up his phone finding a name on the contact list. Quickly making the call the alpha waited patiently until the female voice sounded on the other side of the line.
— Well, look who remembered me.
— Nandinha, my love, I need a favor.
Jake felt an intense look on his right shoulder, but he soon calmed Nathaniel by kissing his hand.
— You're as fake as a three-dollar bill. What do you need, Jake?
— Could you do me a favor and find out some rumour or any information about my classmate. Her name is Bianca.
— Hm... I think some of my friends may know her friends, I've seen them talking in the halls of college. I'll see what I can get, but is it any information or are you waiting for something specific?
— Anything you can find out.
— You'll be in my debt, huh big boy.
— Haha, can you charge me later — Turning off the phone, Jake stared at the omega that looked at him coldly — What?

— She's an alpha, relax.

Nathaniel all grumpy was cute, but it was the first time Jake saw him jealous, although he seemed well restrained. How lovely.

Bringing his face to Nathaniel's ear, the alpha whispered.
