Kayla's POV
Gazing at his cold face, I instinctively shielded Daisy behind me. "Yes."
"You got married in Europe?"
"Her father and I have separated."
"Huh," Harrison sneered, his gaze turned icily toward me. "So, changing mates is so simple for you, huh?
What?
"Did you once again approach him, claiming to be his mate?"
"I..." Harrison's mockery left me feeling unfairly targeted. My blood seemed to be congealing in my body, leaving me frozen in place, unaware that Daisy had moved to Harrison's side.
"Daisy, come back!"
I wanted to stop my daughter, but I was too late. Daisy reached out and tugged at the hem of Harrison's clothing.
"Hi, you smell really nice, like the scent of daisies."
Harrison froze, repeating Daisy's words in a low voice,
"Daisies?"
Daisy nodded. "Yeah, my favorite scent."
