Kayla's POV
The exhaustion from attending the wedding had me drifting off to sleep quickly.
I'm not sure how much time had passed, but I groggily reached out my hand, subconsciously wanting to touch Daisy beside me, only to find an empty space.
The now cold bedding beside me jolted me awake. I sat up abruptly in bed, and my eyes absentmindedly swept over the alarm clock on the dresser, realizing that I had overslept.
"Daisy!"
I didn't have time to think, and I hadn't even changed out of my pajamas when I rushed out of the bedroom, yelling Daisy's name loudly.
"Mom?"
Daisy was dressed in a beautiful princess dress, holding a glass of milk and sitting obediently at the dining table, casting me a puzzled look.
Sitting across from Daisy was Harrison in a suit and tie.
He had an iPad in his hand, and there was a half-empty cup of coffee on the table in front of him.
His gaze was shifting slightly left and right as he followed the financial news on the screen.
