Chapter - 29 - Touching the Head

The spectators dispersed and went back to their homes. For a while, only Tang Li and Yi Minghuan were left standing there. 

"Why do you want to suddenly catch fish? The weather is cold and so is the river. What if you catch a fever because of going into the river again? I'll make ginger soup for you when we go back."  She mumbled. 

"I'm fine, I'm in good health."

Yi Minghuan felt a woman's nagging care for the first time, and felt that it was not bad. He slightly smiled and said softly: "Uncle Zhang told you to eat better, and this fish will nourish your body."

Tang Li's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes brightened. It turned out that he caught the fish for her!

Although she has a fever now, it is reasonable to say that fish soup and eggs are high-protein foods that are 'fat' and should not be eaten, as they will provide nutrients to the virus in the body and make the fever worse.

However, in comparison, this body is too depleted and needs to be nourished. These things are beneficial to her body rather than harmful.

"You are too kind to me, thank you." She said with a smile. 

"You are also helping me and caring about me." Yi Minghuan paused, then said seriously, "We agreed to be husband and wife, so I should treat you well." 

Tang Li saw that he said these words in a serious manner, and besides being moved and shy, she also felt a little helpless and funny. 

How could he always have the ability to carry out flirting with such a serious face!

"How many times did she hit you?"Yi Minghuan asked again. 

"Uh... just one or two, and then I ran out." She thought that it was his mother after all, so she didn't say that Gu Xiulan was actually abused by her this time. 

Yi Minghuan nodded, turned around and walked home without another word.

Under the setting sun,Tang Li walked home side by side with him. Although there was another drama just now, she was in a calm mood this time. 

Looking at this dilapidated village that is both familiar and unfamiliar, Tang Li gradually has a sense of belonging in her heart. She no longer rejects this place and feel out of the loop in this time period.

And this sense of belonging was given to her by Yi Minghuan. Because he truly accepted her as his wife, and was concerned about her.

He took her to see a doctor, protected her, handed over all his savings, washed her clothes and caught a fish to replenish her body.

Maybe these are all small things and details but they show that the man truly cares about you and respects you.

There weren't many men who treated their wives so nicely even in the 21st century!

Yi Minghuan, out of responsibility, was  so thoughtful and considerate that his every action makes her feel warm. 

Tang Li raised her head slightly, stared at Yi Minghuan's handsome side face. She looked at his tall and straight figure, and felt that he was the one who didn't fit in with this village.

His aura doesn't match this village!

Here, he has relatives, but it is better not to have them.

They both are lonely people, perhaps, this is also the reason why he treats her so well. He understands what she is feeling.

"Yi Minghuan, I will treat you very well in the future!" Tang Li said suddenly, and stretched out her hand to him. 

Yi Minghuan stopped and looked down at her. He met her bright but serious eyes and his heart couldn't help but be touched by her.

He raised his hand but didn't hold her hand as she expected but lightly touched the top of her head.

He then made a slight sound of agreement.
