Chapter - 31 - Charming Smile

Father Yi had a bitter face as he persuaded her.

He used himself as an example. He explained that after Gu Xiulan finishes wenting on him it will be fine in a few days, but if he tries to resist the beatings, it will be much more violent and harder to get in good shape.

Tang Li was extremely speechless, powerless and angry.

Facing a person like Father Yi, she can do nothing with him except for being helpless!

You can't be angry with him because he hasn't done anything bad and even cares about you!

You also can't stop caring about him because you can't stand Gu Xiulan and the others bullying him!

If you don't care about him, he will keep being abused and tortured and if you interfere he will persuade us that he can endure!

Encountering this kind of person is really exasperating and maddening!

You can only hate iron for not becoming steel and your teeth itch with anger!

"Father, open your eyes and see, who is being beaten now! Who is afraid of whom!" Tang Li left such a sentence and was so angry that she didn't bother to talk to him anymore.

She picked up the fish that Yi Minghuan threw on the ground and went to the well to clean it up.

"Minghuan, I know you're capable, but you can't beat your brother all the time, and beat him so badly..." Father Lin supported Yi Wenjing, looked at Yi Minghuan and said with a sad face. 

"Father, he used to beat me ten times harder than I am beating him now not to mention that I was a kid at the time." Yi Minghuan's eyes flashed with hurt, and he continued with a cold face:

"And I won't beat him for no reason! If you don't want to be beaten, don't beat my wife!"

Yi Minghuan took a step backward, and walked away from Father Yi expressionlessly, without making any concessions. 

"That's right! Why should we be bullied!"  After hearing Yi Minghuan's words she supported him loudly, and shouted at Yi Wenjing: "If you don't want to be beaten, just take care of your old lady and her stinky mouth!" 

Yi Wenjing's face darkened in an instant, and he pushed Father Yi away.

He pushed him so hard that he almost fell. After yelling at him for being a waste he went back into the house clutching his stomach.

Tang Li really wanted to slap him after seeing his attitude towards his father, but seeing that father Yi didn't care at all, she could only take a deep breath to suppress her anger.

She secretly scolded herself to be a meddler in others affairs when they don't want to be helped!

Yi Minghuan walked over to her side to help her deal with the fish. 

Tang Li couldn't help but think that if she an outsider felt so uncomfortable with the ongoing drama he must be feeling even more agonizing.

"Our father has been going through this all his life and he has gotten used to it now. If you ask him to change and tell him that he could become stronger relying on you he probably won't be able to have the courage.

So there is no use being angry at him. If you really feel annoyed just hit Yi Wenjing to vent your anger. Since he is so disrespectful to father he should be beaten anyway!" Tang Li leaned her head towards him and whispered slowly to comfort him.

Yi Minghuan stared at her, and just when she was feeling that she had said something wrong, he suddenly smiled at her happily.

This was the first time that when he going through pain and depression brought on by his relatives that he could have someone beside him.

He also had someone who shared their thoughts with him. Someone who understood what he was going through and comfort him, so that he did not have doubts about why he was born in this world.

He was not alone in this world! He had a wife!

"You, why are you smiling so happily?" Tang Li's heart skipped a beat when he grinned, feeling that she was being seduced again! 

However, it's really not because of her lack of resistance, but because she didn't expect this expressionless, indifferent and cold man to smile so...

Brightly, like a cute boy. 

Brilliant, simple, and charming. 

"Your words make me happy." Yi Minghuan was honest, and he was still looking at her with bright eyes that were full of smiles...
