At that moment, Lin Zhenya and Tang Wei emerged from the house, chopsticks in hand, both displaying a mix of surprise and joy upon seeing Tang Li.

However, as soon as they realized she was alone, concern replaced their initial emotions.

"Li'er, why are you here so late?! Where's Ah'Ming?! Did you two have a fight?" Tang Wei inquired anxiously.

"Dad, Mom, we didn't quarrel, it's okay!" Tang Li reassured them and then gesturing towards a bag of food on the ground she said, "Dad, you pick this up and then we will go in and talk."

Curiosity piqued, Tang Wei examined the bag, noticing it was sealed.

As soon as he touched it he knew that the bag contains wheat!

However, upon recognizing its contents, he frowned. "Li'er, why did you bring a bag of wheat here? You take it back later! We can't use your grains!"

"Yeah, Li'er, Minghuan just came back, and you two went out to live alone. Life is so hard right now, and you still bring food to your natal family to supplement us! wouldn't this make Minghuan feel at odds?" added Lin Zhenya, holding Tang Li's hand with tearful eyes and earnest concern.

Lin Zhenya continued, expressing heartfelt sentiments, "Your parents are already feel sorry to get married you in a hurry. Fortunately, Minghuan is a good child; so we should cherish it.

Mom just hopes that you can live your own life well and you shouldn't have to worry about us or quarrel with your husband for us. Husbands don't want their wife to support their mother's family and ignore their own family. Don't let Minghuan have a bad impression about you or our family for this matter!"

"Sister, there is food at home so you take it back quickly. You are malnourished and you have to take care of yourself so that you don't get too thin! Otherwise it won't feel good to hug!" Tang Yu added with a distressed expression.

Tang Li, moved by her parents' concerns, was almost in tears when her younger brother chimed in with an unexpected comment that made her dumbfounded.

"Dad, Mom, can we go in and talk first? I'm so hungry and I haven't eaten anything tonight. Is there any soup or steamed buns at home?", Tang Li began to cry miserably.

Playing the pitiful card worked like a charm!

Lin Zhenya swiftly intervened, "We were eating just now. I'll get you some soup and steamed buns. My son's father, you hurry up and bring the bag in and close the door."

As Tang Li put away her bicycle and brought the bag inside, she handed a piece of candy to Tang Yu with a smile. "Sister's wedding candy is sweet! Try it!"

"What kind of wedding candy?" Tang Yu took the candy, and before Tang Li could answer, he immediately widened his eyes, glanced at her belly and asked, "Sister, are you pregnant?" 

"What!" Tang Wei was utterly startled by this suggestion.

His eyes nearly popped out at the mere thought of his son-in-law just returning, and now there might be a baby on the way!

"...Of course not!" Tang Li chuckled and playfully slapped her brother's head.

To reassure the visibly worried Tang Wei, she explained, "Today, Minghuan and I went to get our marriage certificate, so we bought some wedding candy."

"Okay, okay." Tang Wei's face lit up with a smile. "I should buy some candy too to spread the happiness around the village. I'll try one, so I can feel happy!"

Tang Li shared a smile with her father, appreciating his adorable reaction and thought he was so cute!

However, Lin Zhenya interrupted, reminding them to focus on dinner before indulging in candy.

"Hurry up and have dinner first! Eat candy after dinner!" Lin Zhenya brought the soup and steamed buns to the small table, walked out, and said to them with a smile. 

Then, Tang Li looked at her younger brother and her father and saw them spit out the candy in their mouth onto the original cellophane, wrapped it carefully, and prepared to eat it later. 

Such an action made her feel sore and uncomfortable! 

"Dad, Mom, little brother, I have some good news to tell you," Tang Li revealed, producing a bottle of concoction she had brewed with a smile.

"This is from the doctor who taught me how to treat patients. This medicine that he gave for my brother can cure his illness, and he didn't charge me any money for it!"

"Really?!" Lin Zhenya exclaimed, eyes lighting up with hope.
